both would be subpar since chasers just aren't designed for killing lol, although magic scales better with better gear. assuming you're playing in parties another option would be to reproduce jack frost and tank/pull

BTW Severe Rainstorm does like 2x the damage of arrow storm, but SP will be tough.

I actually just got my hands on a +9 CoD [1] as well, though with the dupped KK's going around, not going to card it just yet.

 

Honestly, AS isn't 1shotting mid turn in, and neither is psychic wave, and I would prefer to not rely on parties, as I have noticed most of the time it's more sitting than killing x.x

I tried soloing high ti on a 120 dex chaser with arrow storm last week when it was acidus and dolomedes and found I needed 2 as which was 1 too many. I switched to severe rainstorm and was killin g with 1 cast, much safer. However, I drank a lot of light bue potions, even with archangeling carded glasses.

yeah one problem no matter which skill you pick is the constant sp upkeep which can be pretty taxing. a 120 dex temp dex runaway magic psychic wave build has been pretty popular lately and is probably better than AS

How many blues a turn in we talking here? I don't mind having to buy light blue crates with KP if need be, but if we talking 1k+ blues a turn in, that might be pushing it ha ha.

More like 70~120 blues per soloing of the ti, with high int and aa glasses (77 luk).

btw, jaye, how much damage does hawkeye proc add to SR damage?

Damage jumps from 5500 per bolt to 9000

Please note sr hits 12 times, so ~66k without hawkeye, which is almost double what I was doing with arrow storm (which was more like 34k) and triggers to 9k +12 which is 108k.

So sr is by far the strongest, but 240 sp per cast + hawkeye draining 250 or whatever, its just plain killer.

What are you doing with runaway magic + psychicwave?

Psywave is 7 hits not 12 and runnaway magic drains 2000 sp don't it? That seems way worse than SR+hawkeye

use blaze shield from ninja skill, then use moonlight dagger. You will get all the sp that you need. 

i just dont sure whether stacking ea+damage is better than stacking matk

Have to switch weapons an d restore your sp with that tactic every mob sounds like it would eliminate any advantage the 3 second cooldown ofpsywave had over sr's 5 second one...

i solo CT using chaser using ignition break. pretty simple, no gear switching and such. i can do 27-30k per IB and 40-45k if bear power activated. got about 60-65m exp per bmx3 on last exp event. quite decent

IB builds are the most effective for leveling but they really can't do anything else. That's what I've heard anyway. But you typically need some stronger gear than normal and you'll have to reset to do something that's not leveling I think.

Don't make sweeping statements like "this is the best form of leveling". You can say "this one is popular among some people I've seen". Get what I mean?

 

As far as I have seen, and I am no chaser expert-- only a dabbler-- the chaser is one of the most flexible and varied classes to level. You can use a variety of different techniques, be it shadow spell, arrow storm, severe rainstorm, or ignition break. They're all pretty good but generally not as good as if the host class were doing them.

Of course. But I said "or so I've heard" to make it clear that I don't have the data to say it's 100% true.

ASS builds are pretty funny to level with. My SC was reset to use it and he casts LoV so much he hitlocks everything that tries to mob him xD it's not perma hitlock so you have to be careful and you're limited to what you can kill.

ignition break is the most popular because a. chasers can get close to the amount of atk rks get, and there isn't as much specialised gear that boosts IB damage that is particularly necessary and b. it's easier on the sp and you can couple it with sp leeching gear which works quite well.

reason i use IB over AS: i can use shield. reason i use IB over caster: lazy to gear switch and ability to do HP/SP leech, since SC cant use thana staff. reason i choose IB over autospell: AOE.
