Hey everyone, I recently started playing ragnarok for the first time on the chaos server, after looking at the classes and some stuff on the wiki I decided to be a swordsman and then a knight. Right now I'm level 45 base level and 44 job level and I'm having a few problems with training. The main problem being I'm running out of fish to heal with and zeny to buy more fish with.

At the moment I'm training at orc village because that's where a training guide said I should be for level's 30-50 and it's a bit hard to keep myself alive because there's so many orcs and they're all aggressive to me. I'm wondering if it's because my gear or stats are bad, the wiki had a few build options on the knight page and I chose to go with the agi based twohanded build because it said it was the most new player friendly for farming. I'm also using the eden2 equipment from the questline you get at lvl 40.

With all that out of the way, my questions are mainly, should I continue leveling at orc village until lvl 50 and then move to payon cave 3 like the guide says or is there a better option for me.
Also, how can I make some zeny? I've been selling drops from mobs and that's helped me buy fresh fish, but it's still very hard to train for a long time without running out.

With base level 45, I would suggest you to go to grove map (cmd_fild01 I think, two maps east of comodo). They are not aggressive and they drop aloe and hinalle leaflets which you could use to heal. I personally grind at grove till level 56 then I do the eden quest where you need to turn over maneater blossoms which gets you to level 71.

Don't forget to get the bounty boards for them as they give a lot of exp.

As for zeny, just pick up everything to get you started And maybe get some rares you could sell to other players

orc village for 30~50 and payondun 3 for 50~70 is nice exp, but if you dont really have the gear for it, it will be quite harsh.

There is another viable leveling place for 40~56 which is comodo dun (the one at the east of comodo map). It is way easier than orc village since the mob is passive. The only thing that you need to watch out for is the black snake (or eel kinda thing). That thing is level 90 if i am not mistaken. Most of the time, there are only 1 of that thing in that map. Just flywing if you see it (or when you see a monster with red name that look like a snake). That place also have BountyBoard which make your farming life easier. Remember to collect all of the sticky webfeet or whatever it is called when you level in that dungeon. You can turn it in using 56~70 board in eden 1st floor. That will give you 4~5 free level depend on the amount that you manage to collect.

alternatively, you can exit that dungeon using the other exit and farm aloe from the alligator mob just like what Cinfer said. You can keep it for healing, or sell it for zeny. 

after 56~ you can go to the north dungeon of comodo. That place is where you will do your 60 eden gear. It also give pretty decent exp and has a bounty board to help your leveling. The only problem with that map is the army of bots.

I give that advice for that person because i think he can handle it with his gear, or basically anyone who want a place for quick leveling and have the gear to support it. Those places really give high exp, but it also give somewhat low amount of zeny. If you are new, you should go or visit other place where it give decent exp/h and also good loots.

i will edit that post later and add in a small reminder for future newbies.

yea orc village is only if you can mob them/you're a mage. i haven't leveled an actual new character for so long that i'm not too sure where else is good, but pm me your ign and i can help you out.

 

also, @the leveling guide best place to mob from 70-99 is harpies

Ahh okay yeah I was following that, it was very fast for leveling though I managed to get to level 50 at the orc village but I'll try some of the suggestions in the thread. Thanks for the advice everyone

^ i already edited that post, and include some leveling place which i use when i first started. It basically a place where you can gain decent exp/h and good loots that you can vend.
