anybody else experiencing this? i've been experiencing it every day, though it will be ok in about maybe 20 mins of attempting it's still annoying

Yes, Rose just recently suffered another DDoS attack. Next time, go to the first link in my signature. It will tell you if the servers are down or not.

yeah i know that link.. however, while is says there that the servers are online but yet i'm still experiencing that "stuck at connecting to server".

There have been some other problems, but you might also try slowing down a little. Sometimes if you click things too fast, it seems to mess things up.

It happens to me a lot too and I can verify that slowing down does help. The only thing I'd want to add is that if you do get stuck at "waiting", close that client completely and reload the launcher... just going back to login doesn't seem to work (at least for me) but reloading the launcher and then slowing down when entering the account and pw information does the trick every time.
