Simple question.
Comming back to play after 10 years and first time on renewal. Went for a mage classe since it was one of the easiest and needed classes in classic but as a lvl 114 WL I'm feeling like I'm weaker than every other classe I see playing. 
On top of that I barely see warlocks around cities and high level place.

So what is the deal here? Spent a lot to get good equips on my WL and keep spending but I don't see it getting any better.

My question is, what is required for instant cast.

 

I believe the biggest issue with warlock's is they require alot of MVP cards.
They would be the most expensive class to really gear right.

No, Wanderer & Mechanic are way worse, plus all the expanded jobs.

if you can just say wanderer or super novice is fun when it isn't particularly fun for any particular reason that isn't hella subjective, someone can also say warlock is fun. That invalidates your post completely.

Nah warlocks still have double comets and that lightning attack, white imprison is annoying. 
Storm gust is enough, constantly making me freeze when wearing my GR.

I have like, neutral field which blocks all my own attacks and gets dispelled by crazy vines and ME
After WoE reductions and player reductions nothing in my arsenal deals more then 2-5k damage.

Literally just a nuclear bomb.

Mechanics are hella good. Just expensive.

Wanderers semn USELESS. They can do a lot more than they're given credit for. (Ever been one shot by Metallic sound when wearing reducs for another class? I have. ;-

Super Novices can tank MvPs and I used to make sport of killing suras in PvP with mine.

Ohh well. I guess I pick it wrong then. Should have read more stuffs before lvling one. 

Now I've spent a lot with mine... I have some good mid gear like +9 FAW, +7 crown of deceit, Tatoo but nothing I buy or skills I read or see seems that would help.
Thinking about just giving up and lvling another toon, An archer maybe or Gene. What you guys think would be the best class to duo with an AB?

Mechanics aren't DD and if you're playing them as one outside of getting SDs off then you're doing it wrong. They're midline support.

I'm not into woe so much. Just some casual play. Killing stuffs here and there, farming and lvling fast. MVPing maybe.

if you want to play a mage character i suggest u make a sorcerer first. that way you wont have trouble finding parties to level up at least.

if you judge the value of a class by the amount of burst damage that they can deal, then yes, there are better classes.

I don't know about class, but definitely the worst job change. :< I wanted to stab my eyes out... all in the name of a cute female warlock that has been level 100 for two years, lol.

worst class (objectively speaking) is probably super novice, followed by a wanderer
