Excuse my ignorance, please, I have searched all over the forums and the internet and perhaps the information is somewhere but after spending an hour looking for it, my only recourse is to post here. When trading, can you type how much zeny the other player gives, or do they have to type how much zeny they give in a trade?

The other player has to input the amount they want to give, you can't force another player to give you a certain amount.

Thank you! I was worried that a player scammed me because around 600,000 zeny of mine disappeared after a trade where I didn't put any zeny into the trade. Now I am worried that I may have misremembered how much zeny I had. Either way, I appreciate the answer.

Following the context clues in your forum handle, I think the latter half of this is plausible.
