yoh i actually played before so im quite familiar with some of the mechanics of the game and was able to make a 104/16 RG which i hated because of the bad stat build and i jumped to 100 because of a quest T.T (was planning to stay to 99 and grind job lvl) and i stopped playing for almost 2 years (150/50 days) and im quite sure there are some changes so i hope you can answer some of my questions:

 

 

Q1: Holy cross still viable for quick grinding?

~i have a lvl 80 priest which i mainly use for agi/bless/magni which really helps alot with me spamming holy cross back in the days.can i still use this method now?planning to use a 99 str/30 agi/moderate amout of vit/dex/int(for sp purposes) and spam holy cross till i turn RG

 

Q2:what stat should i be looking at lvl 99 RG

~well obviously i can do whatever i want during crusader days but to save reset im planning to play paladin with the build that im planning on to use as a OB type RG

 

Q3:gear wise

WPH+alarm mask

+8 hallowed(santa poring) long horn

Brutal rosa shield

shackles+bsb

and got 144M to start with

 

~what gear should i be aiming with my 144m budget so i can somehow efficiently solo myself as a RG?

 

Q4:quest stacking?

~i kinda forgot about this?should i stack quests and turn them in after i turn RG or what?really confused

Holy Cross is still pretty good. But if you have a WPH + alarm mask, you might want to look into AOE leveling like Magnum Break -> Grand Cross -> Overbrand.

 

I'm really confused though; you're saying you already have a 104 RG? But making a new one?

 

Quest stacking is great if you're popping a manual.

 

I don't really recommend purposely staying 99 or 100. If you're solo grinding, you can get a lot of easy levels at Loli Ruris using Grand Cross and you don't even need OB. OB is better though of course.

i messed up with stats with my previous rg and cat level him well....

 

okay im quite intereste with grandcross build.how does it work?and what stat should i have?str-int-vit?i have evil armor too should work well with nif monsters too right?

You can get a stat reset. It's more worth it to do that than to build a new RG completely.

 

Grand Cross is just like your typical physical build, except MATK affects it too. You don't really need to care much about the MATK part from my experience though. STR / VIT definitely. Might as well invest in a bit of DEX too since you'll need it as RG / for cast time. INT you can get a bit of, especially since it'll help your RG sp pool.

im actually using it right now...well AOE is much better if your not having a problem with your SP.currently a lvl 73 crusader and planning to use HC till 86 then be a GC-Tanker for low TI till 99

 

the damage is weird tho...you have to position yourself wisely for GC to hit multiple times.

sp is not going to be a problem. I can buy straws and I have the WPH combo aswell so pots not a problem. I havent tried TIs. I just used bpunty boards stacking plus BMs till 93 and grind in kunlun with BMs till 99. I was getting 11k-14k per kill at 98. im just wondering if GC mobbing is faster than holy cross. not to mention holy cross is double dmg if you are wearing a two hand spear (I have a +7 hellfire with 9FS currently doing 6-8k dmg to everything except holy property). my main concern atm is some mobs are not aggresive so mobbing is harder and the dmg is weird if there is two monster are in the same cell it will only hit ones.

Zipper bear gives 11k Enchanted Peach tree gives 13k and Bloody Butterfly gives 14k but i was using BMx3 all the time and it was spotlight there and im not sure if its still spotlight. took me roughly 2 hours to 99 my sader.

 

oh and i think its currently times 2 exp in chaos so thats why im getting that much

richkid haha.just gonna chill out and do TI and bounty quest and wait till i get to 3rd job before i buy vip and battle manuals.grinding pre-3rd job is actually fun lol.

For me, Grand Cross really shines when you are in level range of Loli Ruris. Dark Priests are okay but that map is HUGE and it takes a while to get a good mob. You could also use Magnum Break up to ~85 or so too.

This is a great map for GC Pala/RG if you need something new. I went there with my AB wife (for Secra) and a Triple HF +8 Elemental Sword with my 101 RG till i got Overbrand. Dunno, if you can do the Quest before level 100 though.

Cannon spear + overbrand is the best combo attack to me for soloing. you can try a 120 str build, add in temp str boots, instead of bsb set, allowing freedom for exta accessory and lower weight.

 

Best spears are imperial, hunting, and long horn.

 

For gear I would focus on gear that adds attack, with either FS enchants or EA enchants on weapon if possible.

 

Rideword for sp till you can afford +9 vanagard. Blue potions for sp would be cheaper and fill more then strawberry. If you go 120 str you should be able to carry more, especially when you get max weight up box later on. Hunter fly for weapons.

problem with GC is the the damage that i take from the skill itself..i think its because of my low vit (50) but i sometimes die mainly because of the damage i take from GC which makes my HP very low....i got 11k hp btw @ lvl 93 i knw its kinda low

You just need to pot aggressively using WPH. Reduction shield and raydric/DR garment will help immensely.

actually just turned in to high novice few minutes ago!horay!few more grind actually enjoyed the grind (w/ a bug - basic skills went 0 after i turned to swordie so no sitting, trading, etc. for while i was a sader).

 

anyways still planning to use GC and HC build til i turn 99 RG and probably reset my skills after that

 

Q1: Rergarding GC,it drains 20% HP+xxx damage per cast right?if i use a Bathory (shadow) Armor while using GC will the xxx portion of backlash damage increase?

 

Q2: what stat should i be looking at lvl 99 RG?can you comment on this pls?

dex: 55 - is this enough @ lvl 99?

I've used a Holy Armor with GC before and noticed no difference in the damage I took. So I'm inclined to say the armor element doesn't matter. Although I think my Sader/ Pally had very little MATK... maybe it has something to do with the MATK?

Your stats look fine to me. Beyond that is just fine-tuning for things you prefer. Like if you had HBP you might try to pump a certain stat to get the HBP bonus ASAP. Or if you had FAW you would do things in multiples of 20 for those bonuses.

For SP, I would say if you are leveling fast enough, you will just gain a level and get your full SP back. You could also consider Earth Deleter Armor. Another thing you can do is have an acolyte alt memo the map you are leveling at and take advantage of Inns or Eden Kitchen for full HP + SP.

For OB, hard to say if Incubus + Nid Garb is enough. It might be but you will probably still use a lot of SP supplies. One trick is to hotkey swap mid-battle between WPH and RWH / Vanargand.

thanks!i might GC effectively then on Lolis past 99 until i get a decent amount of Job levels and move to Nog?

 

yeah i might as well hotkey WPH and RWH(+0 should be enough to combo with incu and Nid Garb right?)

 

how about thanatos spear?should i use one?i read somewhere that he used 1h thana spear with hunterfly and he never potted ever again.

 

i have 2 pcs bradium ring btw (planned to replace my shackles+bsb because its limiting me too much), what card can i put on the other one?the other has phen on it but the other is still clean

dark priest mob sucks and even bounty too.the spawn is just too meh..id rather do juno bounty easy merit badge there and i wont be putting agi on my Pala until i turn my RG to MVP type.im going for pure Str-Vit-Dex and few int for mana pool. this way i can save reset until i really need it
