Why am I getting this error? Help please

Patch server is down. A lot of people are unable to patch.

Patching = updating the game. That's why you have to patch before you can start playing. If you miss an update, you can get sprite errors, game corruption, etc. So yes, it's a big deal to not be able to patch.

and where can i update? sorry man pretty new to valk or any ragnarok.

You can only patch through the patcher. However, some people have found ways to get around patching and log into the game. Although, doing so can mess up your copy of the game.

If you're really desperate to get into the game, do so at your own risk. Otherwise, wait until the patch server gets fixed.

okay is there a certain time to wait while it gets fixed?

It's Thanksgiving weekend, meaning there's a VERY low chance there's someone still working at Gravity's office. I have a feeling not a lot of people will be playing for the rest of the day.
