First of all, what are the ACTUAL range classification for HS skill? I know in irowiki clearly states it melee, but considering that the skill have a range of 4 spaces isn't that supposed to be ranged?

 

As in GOH skill above lvl 4 are considered Ranged since its range becomes 4-7 spaces.

 

I need to know this because I plan to get/buy a Gungnir [2AS] with EA enchant for my HS/DB RK. I dont think its worth it if HS doesnt works with AS/EA.

 

Secondly about IB, will the element of the weapon (ie:RTE) determines the element of attack? Or is it became forced-neutral?

Hey buddy, i can only answer the question about IB. I havent played around with HS.

 

Yes, the element of your weapon determines the element of your attack. It just happen to be a little better with Fire, but if you endow wind, the attack will be wind.

 

G/L with the HS. Btw, what build are you going for? You can not have all 3 skills, im sure you know.

Yes, Like Clashing Spiral and Spear Boomerang. Hundred Spears is affected by ranged% mods. Both skills even have something to do with Hundred Spears ^^

Gungnir[2] with 2 AS and EA enchants is a really good choice for this Skill.

I was asking because I planned to solo in nogg road with RTE [3HunterFly], but since the skill follows the weapon element then that would be a big problem. Should I get a Blue TE [3HF] because of this? I need some opinion on this.

 

Currently I have 2 RK: female HS/DB and male IB/BB, I'm still figuring out what they will be when they are 175/60 though. Both of them are in lvl 110++ right now.

Hs is ranged, it gets blocked by pneuma. For the weapon i wouldnt bother getting a blue one since youll be using a red twin mostly after you leave nogg. You can just endow/convert it

Pertaining to the Gugnir [2] with 2 ASs, shouldn't we get either element/race instead, as DB is also affected by elemental/race as written in iRO Wiki, 2ASs give 20% of modify while 2 elements/races give 40% (for instance Vadon Card).

 

Just not sure if HS is also affected by elemental/race modifier. If yes, definitely elemental/race card better?

ELE/SIZE Cards do NOT work with DB. Just Ranged Modifiers, after HP and SP. So for general, overall usefullness, Gungnir with 2 AS and 2 EA enchants so you will have the best of DB and HS

 

Edit: I checked the new iRO Formula. This are the ways to reduce your DB damage by your foe.

You're probably better off with two AS cards. Or you'd have to buy a new upgraded enchanted gungnir for every race you'll fight. And just because the race / element cards have a higher percentage, AS might actually do more / same damage since % ranged applies to your whole final damage, and race/element cards do not apply on top of your status ATK. It's not a simple calculation and will depend on your other gears, what other % ranged modifiers you have, your stats, etc.

 

Now, AK card would be a different story. Double AK could be pretty good. But what bosses are you even going to fight with HS anyway? HS isn't very good in the first place.
