Question: Are new registrations still getting confirmed/validated?

I am looking into this with our new Community Manager, the Wiki has been such a great resource, but unfortunately/fortunately (many points of view on that I am sure) we do not run it and, although we used to be in contact with the administrator, it has been some time since and as of now, the new Community Manager has been unable to get approved on a new account.

This makes a system of rewarding people based on participation in updating the Wiki unfair so we cannot yet resume that project in that way. Currently investigating this and will find a solution.

Still working and they still accept new registrations (you have to wait some days), and the CM was accepted, Varitas right?

"CM For Warpportal Interactive. Here to check out and update if needed. It is a lovely southern California location. Adding more words because you are making me." His profile was created, so idk what's wrong.

Well I'm one of the active admins, just not a bureaucrat.

If you're having account problems with the wiki, you can PM Resplendent directly on the Irowiki forums. He really is the only active bureaucrat with the ability to add new accounts.

I should mention Resplendent does add new accounts in a very timely fashion, and he told me recently that the main reason someone wouldn't get their account registered (other than writing utter gibberish for acct bio, yes those are read) is if they forgot to click on the verify registration email that is automatically sent to new registrants as it sometimes get lost in a spam folder.

And yes, the new User:CM Varitas account did show up the other day as Kazara pointed out. If there are other accounts you are inquiring about I can contact him.

The requiem wiki used to be open to anyone to edit without requiring an account registration, but they started to get swamped with spammers and needed to make a change to a registration-required wiki

My Thoughts: The wiki is meant to be edited by anyone who has any interest in enriching the information for all. I do not believe offering rewards based on edits is a very practical idea for a wiki as it can undermine the very basic need for the wiki itself as a place for people to share information and ideas about a specific topic. But if your incentive does attract new quality editors who do in-fact care about the wiki instead of just editors who wanna throw a bunch of random words on a page and instantly ask you where their reward is then i'm for it all.
