Hello,

Ever since last week, I have had a failed to connect to file server error message come up, even after following this guide.

I've also tried manually downloading all patch files from two weeks ago until the most recent ones. When running the patcher, it always gives me this error message, so it doesn't patch even with the manually downloaded files in place.

Other things that I've done include:

- resetting router and PC

- adding all Ragnarok-related .exes to firewall exceptions

I can still play the game though, because the "Play" button becomes available after this error shows up, it's just that there are a lot of missing items/sprites.

If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

You have went through the guide in question but would you be kind to point out the steps that were successful/ not successful?

I've also been having problems with connecting to file server ever since wednesday. I tried going to gravity's FTP but I get no connection.

I've flushed DNS, no change.

I've reset my router, restarted computer, no change.

Firefox and Google Chrome can't access FTP page.

Everything else on the internet works fine, and it's patched normally before until this maintenance.

Sucks that my VIP clock is ticking and I can't patch so I can't login to the game. :(

Would be great if someone could upload 2015-08-26 files on some other place so I can download the patch files from there and see if I can connect after that.

Can you access Mozilla's FTP server?

if you mean HTTPS yes, FTP no.

https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/

sent a ticket to WP since I suspect my IP was blocked during the DDoS attack...

That'd explain not being able to connect to file server/ftp/login, while everything else is working.

*update* Now it works all of a sudden. After I sent the ticket. o_O

I was able to access the FTP links on multiple browsers and I was able to reset my internet settings in IE, I've also flushed DNS. Pretty much all the instructions in the guide I've followed, but my patcher still didn't work right.

Earlier I tried using a backup copy of my RO client (last patched around July) and it's still unable to connect to the patch server. I can't seem to figure out what's wrong.

Edit 1:

I tried accessing the FTP link again a few minutes ago and I can't seem to access it on all my browsers. I was able to access the FTP site this morning when I made this topic.

If it helps in any way, I have the same problem as 100002199785860.

My patcher was working just fine before this week's maintenance.

https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/ works for me as well, but not ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/ .

Unfortunately, the updater won't even attempt to install updates if it can't connect to the FTP server.

Ugh… it seems that Mozilla's FTP server is currently offline; therefore, whether you can connect to it is redundant. -_-

Please do the following:
  • Open Command Prompt.
  • Enter:

    ftp -A patch1.playragnarok.com
  • If ftp doesn't immediately establish a connection to the server, then wait until it prints an error message.
  • Secondary-click the window's titlebar and then choose EditSelect all.
  • Secondary-click the selected text to copy it to the clipboard.
  • Include the copied text in a reply to this post.

First 3 attempts

Spoiler

Just to see what happens, I tried accessing patch1.playragnarok.com in IE and then running the same command in CMD

Spoiler

It seems that after accessing the FTP site in IE, I was able to get it to connect via CMD.

I was able to reproduce the same behavior by restarting the PC and running the prompt before and after opening IE.

Patcher still doesn't patch though. Strange.

Try adding the update server's address to your hosts file.
