That is exactly my problem with what the GM team did. They did no independent investigation and I was able find the card within 3 seconds there really isn't an excuse as to why they couldn't as well.

Okay, good.
I know videos seem like the only "damning" evidence to a lot of people, but they can be easily manipulated.

I am not in charge of the GM team and firing new people (i think this one was new) is harsh for a kind of understandable mistake.

The thing is the GM who did the ban had multiple ways to notice within 1 second that the "maya purple hacks" reason is completely wrong.

1. You can see the headgears on the character itself. (The GM could also just look the character up to look at them)

2. Even if a maya p card isn't on, there are boxes of sunlight which give the same effect, of course that would mean quite a few are being used and it is a less likely answer but still viable.

3. +20 gears are first of all un-heard of other than those dragon helms, which they should know how utterly difficult that would be to create. If our ticket staff doesn't know how un-likely it is for someone to reach +20 then they should be educated on that as well.

4. The fact that the source of video was from a 3rd party website (Youtube) is also something that shouldn't be accepted as evidence no matter what.

You have to remember that those are extremely valid points if you're a veteran player.

A new worker that has never played RO extensively wouldn't know some of those things.

Hell, I would wager that the majority of the community doesn't even know about boxes of sunlight.

I think most people can agree that videos should not be "proof"

Yeah, but nonetheless, when they have decision power to ban for stuff like that, they should at least be educated on the conditions that must be checked before performing a ban and what other options it could be, rather than setting a player to burn on the stake like a witch for their "sorcery". Would be nice if each GM were educated on a different subject to be able to cover bans more efficiently.

To be fair, there are people who are still unaware of image and video editing software.

It's like... I can sort of see how it's understandable, but then I feel as if I'm making excuses for them. He clearly has a headgear in the video. :/

Okay so looking at the ticket.. the GMs did think that the gear was the real gear. But they did not suspend for that gear. They thought that you were using a third party program to see hidden characters. This is a more reasonable ban than I at first thought. Please understand that to them they see no MP carded item but MP card effects in the video.

However, it should have been looked into more in depth as looking at the character I was able to find the MP card within seconds. Were going to restore lost days of VIP to the account as the ban shouldn't have happened. Warnhal is going to show the GMs where they went wrong on the ban.

I dont know how many times a mod has to tell some one to *stop putting ticket number in forums only in private msg*

I dont think people really want to listen until some one hijacks their info and then they run to forums crying durrr durrr

Oh, I have no problem with anybody who can socially engineer my email from me in order to read that ticket. Infact, I have no issue with anybody reading that ticket.

Disclaimed enough for you?

It is my privacy and I'll violate it if I want to. Unless you can quote the specific rule where it says I'm not allowed to.

That'd make you better than any mod here.

posting the ticket number is the closest I can get to humilating that guy and the crappy GM team in public. Hey Campitor - you might want to explain to that ticket sender what happened and why. Cuz they're pretty pissed off.

Outsourcing support GM's to the Philippines sounds like the worst possible idea that WP could have come up with. Hello, long history of corruption.

The lower tier GMs have no ability to unban accounts or do anything major from my understanding.

How about you leave human resource decisions to them?  If everyone got fired for a misunderstanding then nobody would be employed.  Firing should be more reserved for something like recalling a guild leader to an emp behind a defense or something of that nature.  As stupid as it sounds, its a reasonable mistake and was worked out from my understanding.
