i'm currently leveling my IB RK using a 3xHF RTE (shields ftw) and if i ever to switch to a 2H sword, i'd use Thana Great Sword after 120+ (currently i'm not confident mobbing w/ parry)

never mob with parry. what do you think that fast movement and spear dynamo is for.
you can certainly try tho. but i dont recommend it.
use parry for 1v1 fights such as mvp.

eh but i don't want to parry D: i like my shield *sword not great sword

thana great sword would come pretty much later to see if the enchant blade damage works better with a good matk weapon

I'm currently leveling an agi Lord Knight using the following gears:

uncarded Violet Fear with Sharp 2 and Sharp 3

Immune Heroic Backpack

CD In Mouth

Robo Eye

Eden Group Boots IV

Eden Group Armor

Glorious Ring (1 of 2 that belongs to my AB)

Ring of Flame Lord

 

I do also have a Ring of Resonance but I only switch to it (I have it on switch with the Glorious Ring) when I encounter large mobs that I know I'll have an extend/long duration fight with and remain stationary for, for the Quag/Venom Splasher/Etc procs. I don't keep it on all the time because the constant auto-gfisting saps my SP and doesn't allow me to keep up Aura Blade and Spear Dynamo. I also can't stand having my DPS stopped because of the auto-cast Sonic Blows - that is stupid as hell.

I wear a Rideword Hat that I have on switch with a Snake Head for the double attacks when I have have my self-buffs freshly up and have enough SP to not need the RWH for a while (until my SP zeroes out and buffs go down and I have to slap the RWH back on for a little bit to get SP to rebuff to then swap back to the Snake Head).

 

Once I'm a Rune Knight I already have a full Peuz set waiting in storage that I will use.

The idea then is to use the following gears:

Probably stay with the RWH/Snake Head switching

Keep using Robo Eye (idk if there's a better mid to use, I quit RO 3 years ago and just came back)

Keep using CD In Mouth

Keep using Violet Fear until 120 then switch to a Thanatos Greatsword

Peuz's armor, boots, mant, and accessory

Will continue to use the Ring of Flame Lord for the auto-casts paired with Peuz's accessory

 

Basically I plan to stay as an auto-cast/agi/ctrl-click build as a RK. I'm really looking forward to the auto-cast Spear Dynamo from Peuz' set. It'll save me a lot of SP and then I probably wont have to wear the RWH anymore and can keep on the Snake Head for more DPS. I'm also really looking forward to the auto-cast Storm Blasts for even more DPS.

Currently the Snake Head is uncarded, I haven't looked in to anything to card it with yet.

 

So yeah tldr I just didn't know what to card my Violet Fear with. I know that iRO wiki recommends the following cards but here's my take on them all:

 

Aunoe Card - At 80 mil per card it's just not worth it to me to buy 2 of these when I already spent 65 mil on the Sharp 2 Sharp 3 Violet Fear considering I wont be wearing it anymore at 120 in favor of a Thantos Great Sword

 

The Paper Card  - Let's be honest, this card is crap because of the SP draining. Even though my RWH is +9, it still doesn't proc enough to counteract the SP draining this would cause me. It just barely allows me to keep my self buffs up when I switch it with my Snake Head. I have no interest in spamming SP items either.

 

Atroce Card - LOL because I totally have money for 1 MVP card let alone 2 of them

 

Gryphon Card - I actually seriously considered 2x Gryphon cards. It seems like it wouldn't be a bad idea and it was what I was most likely going to end up doing before I decided I'd like to go with 2x Hunter Fly cards instead for the HP sustain while I level so I don't have to go through as many whites. Having an additional 2 chances to proc Bowling Bash on top of the 1 I already have from Ring of Flame Lord seems like it would be a decent DPS increase, plus the 14 additional crit is pretty big, too.

 

Soldier Skeleton Card  - These are garbage

 

Bloody Knight Card - I was also considering 2x Bloody Knight cards but like iRO wiki itself says, it would be more for the purpose of fun than anything. 1 thing I have already observed from the auto-cast Meteor Storm from Violet Fear is that obviously with how little int/m-atk I have as a Lord Knight and will have as a Rune Knight, the DAMAGE from Meteor Storm is garbage....HOWEVER, where Meteor really shines is that it has a high of stunning enemies, which when I am getting mobbed is really awesome. So having an additional 2 chances of auto-casting a Meteor Storm doesn't seem like that bad of an idea for the additional crowd control and sustain I'd have. Except that Bloody Knight cards cost 3x as much as Hunter Fly cards and Gryphon cards which makes them less favorable to me as once again I wont be using the sword anymore at 120 so the less money I invest in to it the better.

 

Mutant Dragonoid Card - Not bad considering how cheap they are but I feel like they'd pale in comparison to how useful 2x Hunter Fly cards would be or how much more DPS 2x Gryphon cards would add.

 

All in all I'm just tired of how many whites I use while leveling and that's the reason I had the idea to go with 2x Hunter Fly cards in the first place. I know it's not a total replacement for pots but even if I have to use a decent amount less of them I'm happy.

i won't recommend you to level with ctrl-click build but what's stopping you if it's your style. and pls refer to blackcross' guide to physical RK.

about the cards, paper, atroce, ss, and bloody knight should be removed from the list entirely.

aunoe is almost the best one in your list and you should be running a crit-clicker, which is mostly awesome against agi up mvps. gryphon card could steal the place if you still lack of those last ~10 crit (in case you only have ~90 crit w/ abrasive) but crit can be obtained anywhere else like the LUK Glove (eclage glove), while crit damage can be obtained via Fatal FAW/Temp LUK + 120 luk.

take a look at death guidance, i havent try it myself but i read vampiric gift can do area hp leech while you're ctrl-clicking.

A VF is for critting single targets, which 90% of the time will be Mvps. For this purpose two AK cards are better than two Aunoe cards by far. Otherwise just leave it clean.

 

Leveling by ctrl clicking single monsters is slow and costly on pots. Your leech will hardly ever proc because you're only hitting one target. Switch to a 1h sword + shield and mob with bowling bash for an easier time.

I won't say AK is an absolute choice tho.

tl;dr

Let's say you're running 200 sATK and 400 w/eATK.

Without weapon refine variance, 2x AK will raise the 400 w/eATK into 600, means you'll be dealing 1000 damage, 1400 if it crits.

If you choose to run 2x Aunoe, your regular damage will be 800, but you'll get 1568 crit damage (1120 regular crit plus 40% mod).

It's not a very high number and you should count which combination is viable for yourself, whether if you want to stack more ATK (Temporal STR/FS Enchants), crit damage (Temporal LUK), or both.

If you run AK Aunoe, regular damage would be 900, and the crit will be 1512 (1260 regular crit).

The best use of Hunter Fly cards i have found on euRO is in a +9DG when farming Thor 3. It really makes a difference since the reflect damage would kill you otherwise. Hunterfly Cards will definetely help you sustain, BUT it will limit your damage output significantly by 40%.
