Can the excessive trolling and aggressive tone be placed in a bucket of ice please? If this is so hard to contain and do I will be glad to assist.

Is release warlock's main skill?

Is not (due to not being able to amp)... but it helps somehow while leveling and WoE (if you know how to amp).

It's been random since Renewal became a thing. At the very least it's been random since the balance patch. That fact has been stated and repeated time and time again on the forums here since 2011 (cursory search and going by memory), and was described as random on iW since being revised after someone bothered to test it thoroughly, also around 2011, and it was preserved through multiple revisions up until 2013 where it was evidently omitted by mistake when Nilox was spiffing up the layout.

Anyway Warlocks are still very powerful but as with all casters they require very expensive gear, a high degree of personal skill, and knowledge as to the elemental weaknesses/mdef/status vulnerability of their targets to be effective. Not disagreeing that Rangers are currently overpowered and that AS is very excessive, but Warlocks are NOT primary DPS by any sense of the word, and they were never intended to be, so they really shouldn't be compared with Rangers who were designed to be glass cannons. The prescribed role of a WL in the official RWC guide and currently mirrored in the 2015 RJC guide is backline support with WI, Marsh, Sienna, Strain, JF, Ganban and SG, and both their MATK scaling and predominance of utility skills in their tree reflect that role very well.

Release was just designed to assist in getting spells out ASAP. It's not their primary leveling skill and it's not meant to be solely relied upon.

Dude, making it random is BS, there is no way that should be the behavior of this skill, i mean is gravity retarded or something?, well comming from the guys that made arrow storm, they probably are... But still, i mean Warlocks are squishy too, squishy as mother-_-ers, even more than rangers, and we get affected more by this because we cant oneshot everything, rangers can and have cloaking so they may aswell just have 1 point in hp and will have no troubles whatsoever because they cant aggro what is already dead.

First time in a game where i cant trust my skills, this is ridiculous.

Releasing spell using skills in random order is really strange and doesn't really make any sense.

My guess that it's a bug or at least it's not supposed to be like that (not bug, but design error).

but Warlocks are NOT primary DPS by any sense of the word, and they were never intended to be, so they really shouldn't be compared with Rangers who were designed to be glass cannons. The prescribed role of a WL in the official RWC guide and currently mirrored in the 2015 RJC guide is backline support with WI, Marsh, Sienna, Strain, JF, Ganban and SG, and both their MATK scaling and predominance of utility skills in their tree reflect that role very well.

I remember back when the new classes were announced gravity told us about what each class was going to be. Warlocks were promised to be "ultra high dps super aoe glass cannons with huge aoes and super strong dps with tetra vortex and strong dark/ghost/poison element magic aoes", which everyone who played HW back then was happy about, afterall they played HW for high aoe dps. And when renewal started on kRO sakray warlocks even were "high dps", since back then all skills did way less damage (Arrow storm was something like 300~500% dmg and same casting time as crimson rock nowadays) and aoes had way longer casting time. So yes, warlocks, according to the announcements and to the initial renewal release, were intended to be dps when renewal was developed and when renewal started on the kRO servers.

And my guess to why they attributed these roles to WL in the RWC guide is not because warlocks "arent supposed to be dps", but because their supposed dps-skills suck : CR/ES too long cd, FM/JF relies on luck, TV not scaling with baselevel and having too high cd, you're required to spend an extra 1 second time to cast MA before every single skill to deal decent damage.

So of course they shove WLs in the only category they're actually still halfway decent in (backline support).

The wierd thing is that when they implemented renewal they, in the case of rangers and warlocks, completely changed what the class roles are about

-people played sniper for high single target dps, they changed it to main aoe dps class (well, and kept the high single target dps)

-people played HW to play the main large aoe dps class, with warlock they forced them into being 3rd grade aoe dps and supporters

What's in the next update, Shadow Chasers getting 15x15 aoe "Dagger Storm" and becoming main aoe dps class and GX getting dps-nerfed and forced into being supporters with poison cloud?

They also said Royal Guards would be able to equip 2 shields and that Performers would have a role other than AFK slave
