Avast ye mateys!  There be an art contest on the horizon.   

 

 

From Sept. 9^th to the 16^th we will be searching the high seas for some creative Pirate themed art to celebrate our fun Pirate adventures in game!

 

Five lucky winners will be featured in the Ragnarok Online 2 loading screen, but fear not. Even if you don't win, for just sharing your extraordinary talent we will be giving away 5 phantom stone per player.   

 

Rules that apply: 

 

1. Must be pirate themed or high seas themed. 

2. Must be a part of the Ragnark Online 2 Universe.

3. Must be original art by the artist.  Cannot be a screenshot or someone else's art.

 4. Can be in various mediums however the final submission will need to be digital. So if you are doing an acrylic painting please scan it and post.  

6. Formats for the art need to be in either DDS, PSD, or Jpeg.

7. They must also be 1920 x 1080 px.  If they are larger they will get cropped or resized.

8. You may post your submission on the forums or if you are feeling shy you may send them to cmvaritas@gmail.com but make sure that the subject line reads "Pirate Art Contest 2015" and your forum name. 

 

Once the submissions have come in and the contest closes, we will go ahead and create a form so that everyone may vote.  That's it!

why are you asking for originality on a topic about piracy?   just kidding.

 

btw, am i allowed to tie in characters from known pirate games even if the setting is for RO2? (for example, edward kenway stabbing a poring)

If they are too recognizable as a character from another IP, we won't be able to feature it in our loading screen, however historical figures who happen to look similar would be fine.  For example notable real life pirates are Captain Kidd, Blackbeard, Anne Bonny, Bartholomew Roberts, Calico Jack, etc.

Ahoy mateys! 

 

The pieces are in.    And they look wonderful.  Though looks like we only had three entries so good news!  Everyone is a winner!  

 

I'll go ahead and start distributing prizes now and forward these on to get added to our loading screens.  Unfortunately, we do not know when they will go up exactly, but hopefully soon.
