Wait... so does this mean we are going to have 20 character slots on a single account now? Or will there be a limit to how many characters Freyja can bring over? (Not a bad idea.)

 

I still don't get wp's judgement on this. I thought by now they would have realized that the merges of the past ended horribly because of loopholes and failed limitations and that this is not a solution. Pretty sure this merge will be handled just as poorly, resulting in another mass exodus of loyal players. Hell, that's the main reason I quit like 6 months ago (SEA merger anyone?).

 

If this is unavoidable then please, put in some REAL limitations. Let them bring their characters, bare, no gear. No zeny. All items bound(only able to destroy/sell to npc-NO TRADE). Give them a basic set of equip for their level. Make that all bound as well.

 

Then give each account a certain amount of Zeny. This shouldn't be a ridiculous sum. It should be enough to allow for item repairs, flight pathing, and other basic necessities to get a character mobile and able to function. (Think about this like a botter would. If they have x accounts, all that zeny combined together still should NOT = a large sum.)

It's not even hard to make zeny on odin. I see no realistic way to let them bring their zeny without WP f***ing it up and killing odin.

 

Just letting them bring their gear could mess it up(remember SEA removing runes from gear?). The way I see it, they're coming into the server. It's a convenience that you aren't making them start from lvl 1 or even ML1. That they get to keep their character's level progress should be enough.

 

If you let them bring whatever, then you're essentially saying "Hey you guys who decided to stick with us through all the sh!t on the first server, we don't care about you or your progress! So here, have some 'new' players who have 10x the things you do, can buy out your entire AH economy the instant they are merged over, and flood it with botted/duped items because we STILL can't do our jobs!"

I don't think this is reasonable. Please explain in every single detail why you want to have such limitation.

they probably mess up with that, like with SEA merge (runes, etc) or they may bring ton pandora boxes (maybe with ton pandora keys as well) for zeny

Because when they allowed SEA to bring gear, people slotted their high seed/event runes, brought it over and then removed it once here and sold it in AH. 

 

Even with the gear bound, you could still remove the seeds and sell those. Think about how many HHB bots there are on odin right now. Now imagine the number on an empty server like freyja. Now put those same bots in a place like FF. Seeds and HHB galore.

 

This is why I also said to bind everything. Let them bring their inventories, but bind it. This would allow them to still use their spinels/pots/repairs/ whatever else they use to keep their character functioning without flooding odin market with surplus items hoarded purposefully for the merger. THIS WILL HAPPEN. They have given Freyja a 4 week head start notice to start hoarding now.

 

I say bring no zeny because realistically, WP has not been able to bring about a merger with a zeny limitation that did not have some exploitable loophole. They say only 10k per character, so people make dummy chars to hold their zeny. Or dummy accounts. The problem is that they have posted this beforehand, meaning players have time to hoard and setup before the merger (allowing them to setup for exploits as well). 

 

On top of that the amount of zeny is hugely different between freyja and odin. A 3s costume on odin is roughly 5-600k. In freyja, just a 1s costume can run upwards of 1million. Even with a scale down on the amount of zeny freyja economy has, there will undoubtedly be loopholes and where there are loopholes, people will exploit. I shudder to think what could happen to odin economy if things go unlimited into the server.

Honestly, that's just my take on it.

 

I have a character on Freyja and the amount of stuff on her that could be brought over saddens me. Purely because I know how much it would be worth on odin. I would be 100% ok with having all her inventory bound/wiped if it meant a balanced, non-inflated economy with an active population. Even her zeny. I wouldn't care so long as I didn't have to re-grind her levels.

guys take it easy just wait for the announcement and arrangement about this merge.. dont be too hestirecal about this merge they will make a study for that.. and pls be considerable also to freyja's player, demanding zenny wipe is too much and this is impossible to happen.. 1st how about those players loading KP selling it for zennies? is that fair for them.. lets GM do their work and let us pray that it would be fair for everyone

It won't be fair. Odin's economy is as good as shot. People expecting WP to do a good merge is asking for a miracle. Those of us who have been around since the start knows this and know what to expect.

This is not us being pessimistic, this is us being realistic. Enjoy what's left of Odin's economy while you can.

Although I never against the merger from the beginning, but the amount of zeny in Freya really have to be addressed. From the previous merger we have seen poor calculation from whoever responsible for it. Thus, here I'm still giving a last hope for a "better" calculation.

 

Let's take Amilus guide on this, i.e. 5% to be fair. Before that, I would like to remain a minimum of 10kz to bring over, means any number below 10kz, you will bring full amount of it. This is to avoid some innocent new player that just finish level 50 questing and obtained around 2kz, you don't strip his 2kz by 95% to become 100z. Next, any number above 10kz will be converted to 5% of it.

 

I will show some calculation here:

 

If the Original Amount > 10kz, then:

 

Amount could Bring Over = 10kz + (Original Amount - 10kz) * 5%

 

 

Thus, a character who have the following amount >> could bring over:

Bring all the kafra items you bought, just bound to your account. its fine. but maxed out runes from events we never had would just cause mess and loyal odin players would quit like they did after sea merge i dont want to lose more friends just for a few new people
