Say, what stat between the 2 is better to rank up to 120. My gameplay is mainly about rc+crs every single time while popping up edp's.

 

 

I've read on the wiki that edp only raise my damage base on my weapon atk and equipment atk. Does that mean that I only need to stack on equipments that boost equip atk (e.g. FS FAWs, FS RWC rings, FS Nab armor, shadow equip thingy) and just leave str to like 90-100s and go boost luk or other stats?

120 Str is better as it also raises weapon atk by (Str / 200 * weapon base atk). So in a way, if you're using a weapon with 200 ATK, you get +120 Weapon Atk.

You can also get a Temp Str boots for the +50 bonus Atk (this is counted as equipment atk).

'nother question.. How about those accesories or enchants that gave %atks, are those preferable over FS enchants? Like for example a bako tattoo vs fs (g.scaraba) rwc rings.

 

yeah these things are situational but lets say I use thanatos katar (while having that 120str) while grinding stuff on PvM, %atks or FS enchants, what gives me more bang for my buck when I pop some edp?

Assuming 120 str and a +9 thanatos katar, the %atk boosts will probably be better than the FS enchants (assuming we're comparing say... atk 3% to FS 3; things change if you're comparing atk 1% to FS 8). 

 

At +9, the thanatos katar already gives you 318 attack which your STR (at 120) will boost by another 60% of the base weapon attack (so 220 x 0.60 = 132), giving you over 450 weapon attack (this is not counting any extra STR from job bonus/vipbuff/blessing/etc. or even any equip attack from backpack or gangster scarf or whatever. 

 

At this point, 1% of 450 = 4.5 atk... so 3% = 13.5 atk which means that 3% is better than FS 3 which gives 12 attack. 

 

This will continue to be larger and larger the more attack you can stack, of course. So if Eddga procs, or if you have a wakwak card, or your temporal STR boots give you another 71 atk... all that will go through the % modifier too. 

 

EDIT: The general rule is that if you already have 400 attack from weapon+equip, then % is better than FS of equal levels (atk 3% > FS 3). If you have less than 400, then the flat attack of FS is better. 

 

As for the EDP portion, EDP favors weapon attack more than equip attack. Since the % mods can increase weapon attack, but the FS additions can't... that means EDP favors % mods as well.

Actually i have tried nabs cloth 3/3/2% of wild cat vs FS 9 of wild cat With or without EDP

It doesnt seems to have much difference.. Didnt know why.. >.< Sometime the FS 9 is higher sometime it is lower..

It is really hard to see any difference.. All set up are the same except changing the armor..

Using +9 thana with +9 Eddga.. Even bear procs is the same.. In the end i chooses he FS ones since it gives a reasonable hit rate..

The differences at some points are so minor, that noticing them would be borderline impossible without recording thousands of 'hits' and comparing the average. 

 

In such cases, the ultimate conclusion is "doesn't matter" and you should simply go with what's convenient. 

 

In my own example above, you saw how ATK 3 % was 14.5 atk while FS 3 was 12 attack. The difference of 2.5 attack being so small, the natural variance of your weapon would more than cover for that (a thanatos katar has a variance of +/-44.)

 

Not to mention the over upgrades from +4 to +9. Each over upgrade randomly gives 1~14 atk per "hit", I simplify that by only counting the median of 7. In reality, a +9 a thanatos katar doesn't have 318 atk... but instead, 283 + 5~70.

 

The short of it being, when comparing very similar setups and accounting for the variance of damage -- differences become hard to spot. 

 

Not to mention entering in things like how enemy size mods affect weapon attack but not equip attack.

Oh yes,

 

You are right.. the variance, it is too huge when comparing a +9 or more Thanatos katar. I spent about 2hours using 40+ EDP trying to figure out

 

which is higher. various from no edp, edp, eddga proc, bear's proc, moon proc and anything that proc, in the end I still cannot figure out which is higher. -.-
