DEX vs. LUK. Which is best to have? I know both are equally important for success rates, but is DEX better to have more than LUK, or vice versa?

  • Blind: slightly decreases chance from being inflicted
  • Curse: -1% chance from being inflicted

  • Poison: slightly decreases chance from being inflicted (exact value unknown)
  • Silence: slightly decreases from being inflicted
  • Sleep: slightly decreases from being inflicted
  • Stone Curse: slightly decreases chance from being inflicted

It would be better if you put points on both so that way the stat pts are shared and have more stats

By my observation, then DEX is better to have than LUK? Well both are equally important, so I will have both DEX & LUK maxed out. I was referring to the extra stat points with other equipments/combined with cards and such. For cooking: (DEX)/ +0.2% and (LUK)/ +0.1%

Does the 0.1+/-  make a difference at all? I think it does, but I am no expert on statistics analysis; like I know there are PROS out there who dedicate themselves to this genre.

Of course it makes a difference every point makes a difference so better max it out

luk has the same weight as dex for alchemist brewing.

 

 

as for cooking. what kind of cooking are you refering here?

regular lv1~10 stat foods cooking or genetic's mix cooking (+20 stat foods)?

 

regular cooking is not really worth. most of the ingredients for +7~10 stat foods are pain to collect/buy. you can get lv6 stat foods from treasure box at sky wave instance if you really need them. they're also does not stack with VIP buff.

 

genetic mix cooking on the the other hand is extremely worth it. luk has more weight then dex for this. http://irowiki.org/wiki/Mixed_Cooking

on most brewing, luk gears are generally better than dex gears.

Some say DEX is better than LUK when it comes to mix/special pharmacy for genetics, and others say that LUK has more weight than DEX. Who to believe? I've read all the data provided in the links, and which data is correct? Which one is fake? Can't make up your mind really when there's a bunch of numerical statistical data floating around with different opinions/edits going on, sigh. Too much empirical evidence.

Just look at the skills formulas at irowiki, its easy to say that luk has more impact on gene brewing.

Special pharmacy:

INT + (DEX ÷ 2) + LUK + JobLv + Random[30, 150] + (BaseLv − 100) + (PotionResearch_Lv × 5) + (FullChemicalProtection_Lv × Random[4, 10])

As you can see here, dex has half the weight of both LUK and INT.


Mixed Cooking:

(JobLv ÷ 4) + (DEX ÷ 3) + (LUK ÷ 2)

And here you need 3 DEX to be the same value of 2 LUK.

Ah yes, I forgot all about the INT. DEX + LUK are mainly important and the rest into INT? I haven't maxed out level a character yet so I cant tell the final stats. I don't use calculators that much if any at all - I use my noodles instead. From time to time I do use a calculator to DOUBLE check my work.

The most important for gene brewing is LUK. After this depends on wich you want to focus since INT benefits Special Pharmacy and Dex benefits both Special Pharmacy(by half the amount that int or luk does) and Mixed Cooking. And yes you can actually get over 120 on the brewing stats if you consider making a pure brewer 175 gene.

Its a great goal for one. You get job 60 which is  a bonus for brewing as a 3rd class for one, and you get 15 extra lvls which means more stat points and weight to carry more and brew.  You can literally be able to achiev 100-120% chance at 175/60 with no gods. So I dont see why not go that route. As for stats yes you need Int, dex, luk, but dont forget your str for extra weight. You don want to brew for for 20+ hours when adding some str will decrease your brewing time buy a few hours. and about DEX vs LUK debate, I agree with ash on the dex vs luk since most people think by looking at dex 0.1 success and luk 0.1 succes and think thats all there is to it. Special pharmecy, mixed cooking relies on luk vs biochem brewes relies on dex and luk equally.

if i was you id focus on dex more. and find other means on increasing ur luk with out base stat

Took me nearly a decade to get my character to 150, now to 175? that's another 1/2 or so... Great challenge though, I can imagine. No BMX3 or bubble gums or prize medals or anything. 0 - 150 from scratch.

I would like to purchase some manuals though and get some VIP maybe IDK, I am still debating on that.
