MVP Crit Katar

I know a Chakram + AK cards + sin cuff with fighting spirit or aspd enchants is a good choice.
Are there any other good options?
My GX has lv10 DA so MVPing DD doesn't seem like the best option for me. I have a 2nd GX that will be crit DD with lv5 DA.
But I still want to have fun with my soon to be 175 trying my hardest . Currently accumulating all my crit gears.

In your opinion what would be the best Katar for MVPing at 175?

Chakram is good I guess
Better have 2 fs enchants
But in case you have insufficient aspd, 1 fs and 1 aspd would do, don't do 2 aspd
Other than that, people just use Thanatos Katar

It's great for leveling but I had no idea people used it for MVPing.

I thought Thanatos was bad for crits?

People use it for both purpose
Leveling while MVPing
Ex: in NCT

My +9 hunterfly carded thana's crits only did a little less than my +7 double AK FS 5/5 chakram +sincuffs (around 2~3k less in edp?) on the academy eggs.
Thana katar frees up your accessory slots, only requires 1 card and no enchanting, and the high weapon atk makes it good for pretty much any katar build, and sometime the small leech effect may come in handy. Many reasons to use it.

If anyone is confused about this, its pretty simple. 25% of 20 is 5, AK has 25% bonus while TG has 20%, regardless being boss dmg or atk% they are in the same calculation category so it doesnt matter.

For MVP'ing, I use +12 Thanatos Katar [AK] and it works wonders. Damage on RC can get insane (+100k RC on certain MVP's) and Crits are not bad (~15k crits with minimal buffs on Eddga), so as a hybrid, I really like it. Way cheaper than a Chakram and it covers both options really well. Also, CRS can get super awesome with EA gears and the new GX armor I need one to test, though :v

so its just 5% difference. Ill rather use TG since most mvps has mobs and the AK effect wont work on the mobs just the mvp itself.

The most common MVP's with strong mobs are MVP's you're probably killing with DD Crit and that is if you're even going against them. And even then, they are boss too! Valk's mini-Valk are boss, Salamander and Kasa are boss, Morroc's Spawns are Boss, Hell Flies are Boss, Malandgo boss' mobs are Boss, heck, even Bio3/4 boss' mobs are boss.
Other mobs like Egnigem's, Gloom's, Fallen Bishop's will drop to 1-2 Rolling Cutters anyway. There is literally no reason to use TG over AK in katars vs MVP's.

TG would be better on Purple Dragon indeed, go for it!

AK makes it so the mvp dies faster. the trash mobs usually die in one hit so having a TG is pointless. and if they're tough slave mobs like Ifrit's, those are boss flagged in the first place so AK would be better for that too.

This is kinda related. I tried seeing if Chakrams beat Thana Katar for auto-attacking. My math is correct, right?
For a +9 Thana Katar w/ AK, (220 + 63 ) * 1.4 * 1.25 = 495
For a +9 Chakram w/ 1 FS5 and 2 AK, (130 +10 + 45+18) * 1.4 * 1.4 (sin cuff) * 1.50 = 596
And the chakram goes higher if it has more than 2 FS enchants.
That's right, right? I'm not sure how the "variance" in overupgrades work though.

Pretty sure the highlighted part will be 1.8 instead (crit damage modifier stacks additively).
And FS enchants contribute towards Equipment Atk, not Weapon Atk. That means two things:
1. It's less affected by EDP (x4 instead of x5 multiplier)
2. It won't contribute to the STR ATK bonus (Weapon Atk can be increased through STR bonus, i.e. Weapon Base Atk * STR / 200). So a 100 STR GX with a +9 Thana Katar will (should) get an additional 283 x 100 / 200 = 141 Weapon Atk. While a 100 STR GX with a +9 Chakram FS7/7 will (should) only get an additional 175 x 100 / 200 = 87 Weapon Atk.
Those weapon atk will in turn, gets amplified further by EDP and Crit modifier. So I guess Thana is still a better option.
* I put a (should), because I have a 120 STR GX myself, and I find its additional damage as compared to a 1 STR GX (when I stat reset) to be not that high :\
