Hello!

I'm currently leveling an Alchemist, and I've had a bit of a conundrum about one of the skills, namely, Axe Mastery. The iRO Wiki description of the skill says it increases ATK with both sword and axe class weapons, however, the in-game description mentions axes only. Which one is correct? I'd like to know in advance, since I use swords mainly and wouldn't want to put points in a skill that won't help me at all... :p_swt:

I know it's been a old topic, but is this Axe Mastery skills only increase final damage by 50 or it can be multiplied?

http://irowiki.org/w...Atk#Mastery_ATK

If by 'multiplied' you mean multiplied by skill modifiers, the answer is yes, as part of your status attack (so it's not affected by element).

If by 'multiplied' you mean affected by +% cards (like hydra) the answer is no.

Cheat Sheet: "Should I get Axe Mastery to improve one handed swords or axes?"

  • Axe mastery is noticeably helpful with standard melee attacks
  • Axe mastery is noticeable (but small) in increase to "Cart Cannon"
  • Axe mastery does not increase "Acid Bomb" in a meaningful way.

I know this topic is ancient but observing the various descriptions of axe mastery it suggests axe mace and sword are affected on the same wiki. Is the sword effect limited to only mechanic axe training? I am super confused by this.

The Axe Mastery in the Alchemists tree effects damage for both Axes and swords. This change occured a long time ago so it may confuse you.

The Mechanic jobs Axe Mastery effects Axes and Maces.

Hopefully this helps dispell your confusion.

Some say its not, I say it is worth it. I got it cos i am not investing heavily into Dex for HIT and that extra HIT given by Mechanics Axe Mastery really helps me out.

Okay, I think that summarizes as:

For axe type people, get it

for mado which heavily relies on arm cannon: don't need to
