Rose crashes on opening

Hi! Since the server restart, when I try to run ROSE on my laptop, I get this message after clicking "start" on the launcher.

 

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Gravity\ROSE Online\ TRose.exe

 

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Please contact the application's support team for more information.

 

So now what? I did a check all. Ran my maintenance programs, restarted the PC, and yes I run as administrator. What else can I do? Do I need to uninstall and reinstall?

You could try these :)
 
Patch Client issues:
1) Inside the ROSE Online installation folder, delete: TRose.exe, RoUpdate.exe, and any .zip files that may be in the folder.
 
2) Make sure you have no other ROSE Clients open when you are patching.
 
3) If you have an antivirus program running, you may want to consider disabling it, for the duration of the patch, as sometimes they may cause too much interruption for the patching process to complete succesfully.

Try to reinstall, or if it dosent work, connect to technical support :)

This sounds one of the last maint client patching did corrupt one of your ROSE files, or some.

DS does give you a similar error message when it does this, so I assume this is what happened here.

Sadly this can basically happen every time you patch your client, due to some internet connection problems/ even small interruptions can do this crap to your game.

 

In DS the only way to fix it is to completely un-install the game and to (re-download) re-install it.

I assume it is the same in ROSE, sadly.

It's in Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features

 

To install it, you should Google to find the appropriate version to your operating system.

Otherwise, when you run ROSE, it might ask you what's needed.

Why do all the MODs on the forums seem to hold a grudge over me?

Other posts by people are fine as they are, but mine are always mocked, editted or moved.

Even though they are just like other posts.

At any rate, I uninstalled then reinstalled ROSE, it is working now on the laptop.
