Announcement: It was possible to use the Battlegrounds shouter NPC to only shout character names by adding a # to the character name. Abuse of shouting NPC will result in a suspension of the account. The issue has been corrected with today's maintenance.

 

Working off of reports of issues with the bottle exchange NPC a fix has been put in and to prevent misuse of the NPC to obtain more bottles than were turned in.

-The monsters from the Niflheim part of the spotlight were not updated properly so starting this week they will be properly boosted.

During WoE time, we received a ticket report regarding a character that may have possibly using autopot and Maya Purple Hack.

I followed the reported character and since the guild of the character has already been reported in the past, I thought it was a good bet to observe the said guild at the same time. At some point its as if the character is indeed using a hack, but later on the character started playing safe and decided to blend in to his guild mates while engaging in their enemies. For now, I wasn't able to get a footage of his actions due to him being cautious. Most of the characters we observed were just pre-potting. Found a suspicious character on our observation.

Would it be possible for you guys to have a look at the functionality of Boxster, and change it around a bit to be less abusive?

 

What I mean is make it so you can only turn in items for brownie points from the box that is currently in the cash shop, for the duration of the box's stay in the shop plus one week, and make it so that you can only cash in those brownie points for the same box as the items you originally turned in, as something of a "reroll". This means different stacks of brownie points given out by Boxster each cycle for each box, but I believe it could work with a bit of intelligent programming.

 

It would make it impossible for people to stack brownie points for months by buying off the market and turning in, then cashing out when an extremely valuable box is offered by the NPC thereby multiplying their returns by God knows how much, which is where most of the abuse comes from.

 

Just a suggestion. Discussion would be nice too.

Well that can be fixed by changing the way in which hats vs consumables are handled by boxter.

 

You should only be able to turn in stuff for the box from which it comes. Now the consumables are a common running theme, so they should be handled in a different manner.

 

Perhaps hats for boxes and consumables for a different flavour of brownie point that month, wiped with the next one so it can't be used the next?

 

I like the market freedom.

I quite like the idea of different types of brownie points. Would the consumables cycle as well or would they be fixed so if you cash in, you always get the same stuff?

 

We can't make the system too complex though otherwise no changes will ever be made.

 

100% agreed on not being able to carry brownie points between boxes.

normally they alternate between 150/300 boxes. so if this month was 300, next month would be 150.

Do you think you could make a thread for the test server? Having a place specifically to suggest things to add (cards, consumables or even content) or track what's on there would be nice. Assuming it gets read and kept up to date of course.

Please increase the mob density in niffleheim (nif_fild02) and remove the spawn timers.  Waiting 5-30min for spawns to return is pretty bad for a spotlight map.

How is this abuse? That sounds like a normal savings to me.  Turn your trash no one wants to buy into points.  Not enough points for a new box this month?  That's cool.  You know you'll probably buy more boxes next month, so just get more brownie points from the trash in next month's box.  So on and so forth until you get enough brownie points to buy a box that you want.

 

Or I guess in your case, people buy trash no one wants. They convert it into points. They save it up until they use it for a box they want.  Honestly, that's just smart investing. It's what people/stock brokers do when they buy futures.  

 

I honestly don't see how this is abuse.  People are buying these boxes in the first place in order to get points, so it's not like some sort of money fraud or exploit.  The points just get used later down the time line. Who is getting hurt by this?
