I can only comment on the Dungeon PvM Play anymore cause it's been quite some time since I did cannon leveling.

 

1: Cannonier on Pegasus was fixed to give the effect on number of monsters hit during skills and melee. So in DG's you can cast 1 skill, hit the required amount of hits to proc and instantly gain the effect and keep it up permanently as long as you're hitting groups of monsters. Its good for traversing the groups quickly. 

 

2: Wind Step is actually not too bad, considering Champs used to have a version of it but it was removed 2 years ago and it only lasted 5 seconds? And it also over-wrote movespeed buffs, and thus when the 5 seconds was up, you were without movespeed buffs. 

 

3: Layer Step, i found under whelming after the defense scale change, but, with the new STR : DEF ratio in Pegasus, it now may become more useful but I can't be sure. 

 

I guess what I'm saying is there are changing coming up, that may fix most of what you're having problems with.

Regarding the MSPD, I would like to differ. It has saved me countless times in a lot of dungeon runs I've been with my PvM Cannon Bourg. While our standard melee attacks may be slow, I just don't think it's that good to use especially since our specialty lies in skills. Most of the time when I do AOE, the enemies chase me (of course), and the MSPD helps me run away which then will form the mobs into a ball trying to chase me, which at that point I pop all my AOE and voila, they're gone.

 

I don't know the consequence of only having MSPD in PvP, and our opinions might differ, but I do like the MSPD stuff regarding Cannon Bourgeois. It just pretty much saved me countless times even in semi-closed room areas, like HOO; makes kiting/zoning much easier.

Well for starters Double Shot and Loaded Barrel are now also AoE's and not single Target Skills.

No update on the Summons though other than some trivial stat absorption changes etc from the summoner.

Aspeed got worse over-all for all classes, but it was pretty much the final blow to cannons Never using melee again. So I'd completely abandon that idea entirely if I were you. It kinda sucks cause back in the day of Autoshot Cannons on Dealers and Raiders it was fun, and jROSE still has that support, but they also have a massive lack of proper game balances, they still have the easy 3 shot and first to stun wins so, I'll sacrifice my Cannon Aspeed for a non 3shot or stun first win system.

 

Uhm, aside from those, the only changes were the elements change how you wonna look at mobs, and you'll want at least a few different types of elemental ammunition. Even though Cannon is 100% locked to fire/poison for the ammo, you can use 'basic' non elemental ammo and use your weapons enchant for the proper element. 

and like I said STR gives more DEF now, so that's a plus. 

Also just a quick note, the Archers summons are soft and easily killed, but their DPS is on-par or better than a Judge when you take into account that you can spawn 3 vs the Artisans 1. [or judge + dread if using the gem]

 

It's a lot to take in, stay tuned into the updates and hopefully you'll start to get the answers you need.

Oh yeah sorry i miscounted that. If you use the summon gem you can summon 2 [50] + 2 [60 gauge gem] totaling 4.
