Okay, call me a whiner, but I've tested block rate for clerics with some stat buffers and in some other occasions.

My stat buffed block percentage was 63% (61% atm), I've played against a raider on stat buffs too, and I had no block at all in like 40-50 attacks.

Also in AA, I have like 52% block, and I hardly ever block. When you compare that to knights and etc. you notice that they block way more often.

The highest block I've ever noticed of a knight is like 52.5%, and they literally block 1/3 attack then, how is it possible a Cleric's block is way less useful?

You're not gonna tell me that it's just 'bad luck.' I also have the dex to block rate passives, but it seems useless in the game.

I can also make a video to prove this matter.

Anyone else has the same problem, and is there a fix coming?

Kinds regards,

Mikhailos.

The reason you don't see 'blocked' is because you're not blocking the full amount of damage. What you SHOULD see when your block is 'triggered' is yellow damage text with a slight blue highlighting over the top of it. This indicates some damage was blocked, but not all. This is because your 'block physical' as a cleric is no where near as high as a Knights, but your block magical is also significantly higher than a Knights. You can artificially raise this value by using an exalted set and block physical gem in your tool.

So basically, they should change the 'block' text above your head into 'parried' then. Cause Knights and Clerics then basically don't block the attack, but fully ignore them, when it says 'block.'

This would clarify stuff as well; I do know some friends who has the same issue that they think they aren't blocking since it doesn't say "Blocked".

Looks like this will turn into a proposal to change the "Blocked" to "Parried".

Definitions of Block [related to this subject matter]

"an obstacle to the normal progress or functioning of something."

"a hindering or stopping of an opponent's movement or action."

"hinder or stop the movement or action of (an opponent, a ball, etc.)."

Definition of Hinder [related to this subject matter]

"create difficulties for (someone or something), resulting in delay or obstruction."

Definition of Parry [related to this subject matter]

"ward off (a weapon or attack), especially with a countermove."

Definition of ward [related to this subject matter]

"guard; protect."

Definition of Guard [related to subject matter]

"watch over in order to protect or control."

Not one of these says that it preserves the entirety of the object being protected etc.

If anything the word 'block' is just foreshortened from 'block attempt %' and the 'block physical' is what truly determines if you 100% block. You can still make the blocking countermove and not have it be entirely successful.

Think of these two factors.

Someone swings a two handed Axe at you, and you make the countermove to block that attack with a book. Do you think that's going to be anywhere near as effective as if the attempt had been made with a reinforced steel shield? I'd certainly doubt it.

Not related to the topic but,
This is a nice concept to do a wacky fan art of, hehe.

'The word parry is often used to describe blocking or evading a movement, like parrying a punch'

So yeah, it's a synonym, but it makes more sense than 'blocked'

Also, you're a Cleric, why would a magic book not be able to block less better than a real shield. Magic can do anything.

You said it yourself, it's not a real* shield. That's why. Also, block rate* was increased on pegasus more or less and the same for block amounts. The issue was addressed.

*Offtopic, why man, almost all the people who post their status here in forums doesnt hide the Required SP and remaining SP for each stat? Simply you are still telling people what exactly your stat build is.
