Offhand Choice IP/MG Threshold

Say that the MG is 80% additional damage (no, not 100% if you're thinking of 4xAK) and IP serves only for the Occult Impact. Let's say I'm running 200 SATK and 300 W/EATK for simplicity, no other external ATK+%.

At this point I believe that with MG I'd have 540 W/EATK so my damage will be 940 (let's not factor anything else, just 2xSATK + W/EATK).

Say that my opposition has 200 Soft + Hard DEF. With IP I would hit for 200% from my base damage (700) which means 1400.

Am I calculating something wrong? From my experience between IP and MG I was barely making any difference.

Yes you are calculating wrong. IP doesnt takes in account Soft DEF but Hard DEF instead, and its effect is: Ignores DEF completely, and for each 2 Hard DEF you gain 1 Equip ATK. so an enemy with 200 hard def for example, would have it's physical reduction nulified and then when doing your character atk calculation, add +100 equip atk.

It's case to case, there's not a specific amount of DEF that would made IP or MG better, because it would take in account both the MVP stats, even size, since eATK ignores size mods(always 100%), and sometimes your own atk is just so high that having extra mods would result in better dmg over than ignoring the target DEF and gaining some eATK.

I suggest you to read this, it surelly will help a lot in understanding how to stack damage for your gx.

btw, 2x race+ 2x element yields better results than 4x of the same kind, in general.

4x 20% = 80% = x1.8
(2x20%)^2 = 40%^2 = 1.4^2 = 1.4x1.4 = x1.96

but thats a LOT of offhands to make lol

does weapon attack on the offhand even contribute on renewal? It doesn't on classic... so I don't remember if that changed with renewal but that should be checked too

i'm using size/race instead of element. it was used by my dd thrower kagero before.

It only contributes to the offhand hit. However, the eATK from IP does carry over to the main hit.

All the offhand special effect carry on to he main hand. It's own attack only affects the offhand hit. Hence why when doing a 999k double attack video my main hand hitted for almost 500k on each double and the last hit(offhand) was about 25k only

and thats with a LOT of buffs and good gears and LK card included, what to say about common setups

i have a setup now to do even more damage, but i'll record only on my dd crit gx, only when i finish leveling her, sooo.... itwill probably take a year or more (lazyness op)

If i would do it now, with dd crit gx, the setup would be +/- the following.

+12 Eddga
LK
Adv. Sin Mask
Something with Ktullanux ( i dont own one y know xD)
+9~12 Scalpel [3x Skel Worker] (explained bellow)
+10 Main Gauche[3x Pecopeco Egg, 1x Vadon
+9 Fatal10 Petal FAW

+9 Temp Luk AD4 BP
2x Megs or 1x Bako 1x Meg (depends on the aspd i can achieve, i would have 120 str if using megs)

Fullmoon
+9 Critical Shadow Set
+9 Rapid Pendant
+7 Phys Earring
+9 Shoes vs formless wich i dont recall the name
any shield, there aint one that helps much, maybe athletic
Rudra ASPD1(i didnt mention but i had it on the video)


As for different buffs,

Aloe vera

Dont Poison Enchant/Venom Impression
Use Sorc Fire Insignia instead (works the same way as venom impression)
All the insignias at lv2, if possible (each gives 10% atk, fire one gives +50atk as well)
Battle Theme ensemble
Saturday Night Fever chorus
Weapon Perfection (if you dont know, the fire element eggs are mid size)
Power Thrust
Power Maximize?? ( Idk if i can maintain it after leaving pvp, where a gx would use magic murshroom on me to proc this, or if the poison remains then)
Power Chord?? ( if its additional damage can be affected by % mods definitelly, if not, maybe if it gets affected by crit mods, if not, puppy it)


yeah, crazy setup, specially in the buff part. But who knows, someday maybe i free myself of my lazyness and lvl some of these alts. (Missing 1 extra oboro, sorc with insignias and the performers, all of them LOL)

can still add shadow gear attack, +5 aspd with blitz set coming soon, liberation set, and 10% with heroic hidden cloth etc

 

the scalpel i'm still trying to understand why XD

well, if i would make a specialized ktull armor, would be something like that, or maybe sapha, idk
the liberation shadow set does less damage in this setup than the 5% vs formless. simply by multiplying each of the % mods you can see that. (Boss% works as ATK% and they sum up, not multiply each other)

as for scalpel:

-Hella cheaper than FQL
-Wouldnt make 2x skell worker FQL ever
-1 extra slot than FQL, 60 less atk. But the fact that i'd be so stacked on buffs and procs (Odin, Eddga, GTConvert, Distorted, etc) makes this extra slot worth

you are right (again) about aspd +3

 

hella cheaper is also correct.

 

what makes me jaw drop is how you stack all these

 

when doing BBs realistically how many alt chars buffing do you do? i can only see myself going sura and AB ... lol, the rest of it will just kill me

 

besides, getting the BP proc with aloe vera also gives a few seconds of Str +200 for 5 seconds. given dark claw only gives 5 seconds of augmented DPS, is BP really worth it ?
