Hi, i played ragnarok a long time ago (pre-renewal) and now that i'm back i want to start from scratch (since renewal is so unfamiliar to me anyway). I was thinking of making a chaser aiming for high survivality on PvM, i'm not planning on doing woe/pvp.

 

The thing is RO is completely changed since then and i don't know if the rogue branch can offer me what i want, i don't need the more efficient rute to level, since i have the time but not funds i prefer to play safer even if i get less exp. Is there a build for rogue>stalker (and later chaser) now that has what i want? (wich is high survivality and solo capability for leveling).

rule of thumb in ro:
start with ranger or gx to fund your gene.

Gx is better than ranger, but it will take a lot more to gear a gx than a ranger. Both gx and ranger can mvp, but a gene is better if you have comp especially with lowtier gear. To be able to compete against gene/sura with gx and ranger, you will need to invest a lot more to your gx/ranger.

back to your questions, rogue branch is kinda sux for pvm-ing. They still can do it relatively well, but if you invest the same thing to a ranger or gx, those 2 will come out way better. If you do want to make a farming chaser, you best bet probably Ignition Break + bowling Bash build, since it is the most cost effective. But it will still cost you quite a few hundred mills zeny to gear it properly.

Well when i used to play there was a similar thing with snipers, but i don't really like them. I've been getting info on that ignition break build and seems pretty much wat i was looking for (though i'll have to save some zeny obviously), thank you.

I'm already feeling u-u, it's like a different game. I get it will be difficult (or rather tedious) to level like that, but it's what i want to do so i can't help it even after reading the cons of soloing at higher levels.

well, at least your trapper is way more effective than a ib+bb chaser. (you are immortal :v)

my IB chaser also semi immortal since i stack up leech gears. i dont care if my damage is so so, at least i spend less stock and not going back and forth to kafra to restock when i am in faraway dungeon.
