Have you tried opening up your tower and giving it a good dusting with an air dusting spray?

Strange, I've never heard of RO causing overheating issues. What's your OS and PC build?

I'd check performance while running another game for comparison. RO isn't exactly resource intensive, so you're likely looking at an issue with faulty hardware. Maybe your heat sensor giving a false positive, causing your fans to run unnecessarily hard?

If you've already cleaned the vent. Maybe it's internal fan is not working best.

there's no way that RO should tax your pc that hard

what are your pc specs?

If it's the CPU fan kicking on, that's really weird; even a factory fan should be more than sufficient. In this case, I still want to say it's probably a faulty heat sensor, but this wouldn't explain the better performance you're claiming with other games.

My pc is cool as a cucumber and quiet even running ro all day. Sounds like a problem with your pc (probably video card related) if you're overheating running a poorly optimized graphical, high texture memory program like RO. it could also be cpu, power supply, or motherboard issues.

Are you using onboard video or a separate video card? have you run an app to check cpu temp?

I've had cpu overheating issues in the past. One time its because the thermal paste stuff was practically gone..
