Only when you'd for VIP, be it the 1 week, a month, 3 month package but not the one where u get from in-game that you get for 3 day(?) since that does not change your status.

there is no one day option, just 1 week, which is equiv to 2 USD

I think the free VIP is for those who had VIP during the downtime.

Those that had VIP during the downtime get 6 days of VIP.  People who logged in this week but did not have an active VIP sub get 3 days.  This was confirmed by Oda on another of my posts.  The VIP credits should be doled out by Friday the 20th
