Really pissed off with the lagginess, my game keeps pausing every 2-3 seconds and then after a long 10 seconds or so it continues and everything is sped up and sometimes I might even die by the time my game resumes. I've tried everything, my settings are all set to low and I even tried disabling sound etc but doesnt improve. Im from asia, singapore, I check with fellow asian friends and they dont experience lags as bad as mine, so I dont think its got to do with the country area and stuff. Also, I tried directly connecting to my router and used an adapter to improve internet strength but it doesnt improve much either, only slightly.

 

Im not good at all these tech stuff so Ima just post my system here, let me know if it meets the requirement or not.

 

Processor/CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-4720HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59GHz

RAM: 16.0GB (15.9GB usable)

System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64 based processor

 

I have GeForce experience but i dont really know what or how to use it, and compare mine with dragonsaga's recommended system at the download page.

Really appreciate your help and guidance or any tips to further improve smoothness of game. Thanks.

 

P.S when i first installed the game everything was really smooth, flawless with no lags at all. And i know my com has high specs cus its a gaming laptop. So I really dont know what the problem is when one day the game just becomes laggy and slow. Just additional info, hope might help. I know my com can play dragonsaga smoothly since I had played it smoothly before as mentioned when I first installed it last time.

I don't know much, but is your driver up to date? usually in some games if you update your driver it works fine.

Your system is completely fine to play Dragon Saga. Use your GeForce experience, go to drivers tab and check for updates. If it finds any, click express installation. Do this while game is closed of course. Let us know if it didnt help.

Make sure DS is actually using your NVIDIA card and not integrated, I've got the same set up as you and occasionally my comp will use the integrated over the NVIDIA geforce settings causing all sorts of freezing issues with games.

Is it actually lag caused by an Internet connection, or graphical latency ? Useful answers might be different for either of these two.

thanks for the replies. Regarding GeForce how do i use it? like do i open and then leave it running while I play dragonsaga that kind of thing or what? As for drivers how do i update them or check if up to date, Dragonsaga driver right? @Agitodesu

whats graphical latency? I dont think its my internet cus as mentioned I tried connecting directly to the router and it still lags. I also tried going online internet explorer etc and some other games theres hardly any lag or no lag at all.

Actually point 4 could be number 1. Distance to server is a reason for latency, and in this case it probably is your problem.

Usually information has to travel from your computer to the server, then back to you. This bit of info has an innate speed, which doesn't let it travel instantly, and thus makes it require a certain amount of time to reach its destination.

 

Drivers updates and so on seem unnecessary here.

I would definitely do driver updates. If you don't have the knowledge and you're still running on Microsoft Default Video Driver, you have only basic hardware support for 3d games. To exclude this problem I would update the video drivers.

Late reply, but if you want to do driver updates, go find out the graphics card you are using and look for the manufacturer. I'm using the Titan X and went to the website that had my drivers listed. You can download them online and so on. Don't dowload anything from fishy websites.

Especially the ones letting you "update everything at once" ! Usually they try to update the amount of malwares on your computer more than anything else.

update: i tried reinstalling dragonsaga and it seems it helped significantly. while it still lags a lil, its a lot more playable now. Thanks everyone!
