love how JJ Abrams gave thought into certain scenes-- Rey in the forest, scavenging scene, confrontation scenes. wow. there's much to take in... and i must say i loved the composition at those--- i'm eager to paint them @__@

I have so many thoughts. Overall I loved the movie and am so happy it's back. It went a long way towards washing out the foulness left in my mouth from the prequels.

Spoileriffic though so if you decide to open the below to read before actually seeing the movie, that's on you. :| Also, probably tl;dr for non-star wars fans (in which case, *waves hand* this is not the thread you're looking for)

My thoughts are pretty close to Necro's on this one. Had a blast watching the movie and I think they did a wonderful job of introducing new characters that I'd like to see going on new adventures. There are lots of little nits to pick, but overall it did an admirable job of being a soft-reboot of a franchise that had been in dire straits just a few years before now.

They had to please the die hards, the special edition era fans, the original die hards from the 70s/80s, the young fans of the prequels and a general audience by creating a fun, easy to understand sci-fi fantasy adventure so I think they made a good choice in choosing JJ Abrams.

I loved the movie, I saw it Friday night.  So many thoughts, so many emotions.
