Hello Roserians!
 
The Costume Contest theme this month will be: Flora and Fauna 
 
Flowers bloom, and animals awaken from their hibernation once more. The end of winter may seem far off, but you want to be ready when it comes! Create a costume to welcome back the Spring! Use flowers that are coming back to life to inspire you, or liken your character to one of the furry creatures or wise trees that will be waking up from hibernation! Let nature inspire you!
 
Submissions
 
Entries can be hand drawn, created with a tablet and image editing software, or 3-D models.  Make sure to include any colors that you concept for your costume design if its an original design. Make sure to also include the name of your costume and include your in game name with your entry. 
 
Costume designs must be the creation of the players submitting the entry. They should also match the current monthly theme. *
 
Results
 
This contest will run from 1/6/2016 – 1/29/2016. This months theme will not run as long due to the holidays at the end of the month. The ROSE Team will pick the winning costume to be created in game and the winner will be announced the following week.
 
Prize
 
The player who submits the costume that is chosen will not only receive that costume in game once it is created, but will be given 1000 IM Points! Winners also are able to choose if they would like their name to appear on the costume description to be immortalized forever for their concept in game.

Laughed my ass off when Monna dmed me the theme for the new contest, "Florante at Laura" (filipino poem) and I'm like WTH hahahahahahaha. She must've read this very quick and dmed me without double checking.

Dibs on a Dryad costume. 

Forgot: If you don't know what a Dryad is, and google it, make sure you have your mature filter ON if you're a younger person, as a portion of Dryad mythology incorporates an adult material, you may not want to google it at work either lol... 

 

As per wikipedia-

A dryad (/ˈdraɪ.æd/; Greek: Δρυάδες, sing.: Δρυάς) is a tree nymph, or tree spirit, in Greek mythology. 

In Greek drys signifies "oak." Thus, dryads are specifically the nymphs of oak trees, though the term has come to be used for all tree nymphs in general.[1] 

"Such deities are very much overshadowed by the divine figures defined through poetry and cult," Walter Burkert remarked of Greek nature deities.[2] 

They were normally considered to be very shy creatures, except around the goddess Artemis, who was known to be a friend to most nymphs.

My bad O_O i was at school doing serious stuffs   when I actually saw this thread, and yea it was pretty quick, all did was glance at the first word lol and Florante and Laura came quickly into my mind

Do outfits like the candle ghost style count as well? Like alpha textured legs and such? I have a really cool idea but not entirely sure you'd take it on the basis of having alpha (hidden) textures throughout it

Yeah lol, I guess ill just do some graphic work with blender and photoshop and see what I can come up with I have a few ideas I can probably work out on how to do them

Kinda looks like Tinkerbell's costume (Storybook) but SEXIER

it does actually.. just it is designed with flowers but they can always change the color and I would prefer they use red and white.. or they can just mixed up colors that would fit that design.. hehe! but I will think of something else that doesn't look like a fairy..

Wanna post my entries before my intern starts:

I don't know if you guys like the title of the costumes but watevs 

 

1. Vespa Insecta

- Most people view us hornets as pests with a painful defensive sting, but we benefit the ecosystem, plus we are considered protected wildlife in places like Germany.

2. Deer Faunus (if the antlers' too long for you, just adjust it)

- a Mythological creature that is impulsive and like dancing after the dark by the moonlight.

3. Flower Child (Can't think of a Male Version for this..)

- Join the journey of a young person to advocate love, peace and idealistic values.

Note: Want the petals to be like this flower, but inverted. Can't draw my bad =)

 

4. Guardian of Elms

- The Guardian of Elms plant and guard the elms for it has herbal remedy used by natives to heal wounds, burns, boils and etc.

This is my idea! 

 

Number 1 Costume:

 

Is a gardener with he's/her's watering can and some tools to make the garden start growing very quick! So the hat is a hay hat and with a normal green t-shirt and some ''What is that word..'' Those long brown pants and a belt that holds the extra tools. A red watering can with a yellow flower on it and then green boots with light blue with white dots gloves!

 

Number 2 Costumes

 

Is a protactive overall aginst bees/etc so we can collect the honey that start producing at spring from the bees!

 

 

I know my paint skill is on point! Autographs cost 10 dollars.
