Okay so personally I think summons are fun and the purpose behind Gauge Increase is brilliant, but personally I think it feels like something that shouldn't be game breaking if it worked in the costume slot.
I have stats on my back-shield and I don't want to put a Glaring Gypsum Round in a PvP item, but I do want to be able to have Gauge increase while wearing my PvP gear.

Is there any particular reason for why this doesn't work in the costume slot?
Is there anything that would be game breaking if the function existed? If we hypothetically imagined that it's in game. I mean the summons that come in pet shops are harmless.

ITT: Allow gauge increase to work in the costume slot so you can wear other backshields as your "gear"!

No gems work in items that are equipped in the costume slot.  The only bonuses you will get from a costume are the costume bonuses and those are stated on the items.

That's why it's a suggestion. I don't see how it would be a problem to start making it work on costumes, only the gauge, not other gems.

@OP There is really a problem with your suggestion once its being implemented. Let's say its now implemented, you queue aa and you have an artisan enemy, the artisan has Glaring Gypsum Gem on his avatar and costume back slot, so think about how many summons can he make now. After that you see his cleric group mate which has a lot of swords summon, omg, only summons will kill your group, full of summons wahaha.

Furthermore, just like what VModCupcake said in his post, "No gems work in items that are equipped in the costume slot" because you're getting two different benefits.  One is the other gem inserted or a substat into the avatar slot and the second one is the Glaring Gypsum Gem in costume tab.

I would like to support your suggestion but I will tweak it a bit something like this.

Glaring Gypsum Gem can be activated on costume back slot BUT the other gem or substat on the avatar tab should automatically disable once the summon gem is equipped on the costume tab, if unequipped then re-enable the gem/substat found on avatar tab.

I'm not trying to be rude here. but can you take time to actually read what people are posting instead of skimming the topic and keywords and assuming what it's about?

@Kat,

I see where you're coming from but it can lead to problems. For example, when the Gauge gem was first released a Raider could summon 3 Beasts. This was found to be much too strong and the beast was given a summon amount that limited it to 2 even with the strongest Gem.

Summons absorb your characters stats by a certain Ratio. Having the Gem be in the costume opens up the back-slot for tertiary stats or other gems, indirectly making the summons stronger.

So you'd end up with the benefit of more summons, but they'd also be stronger. And that's where it could become an issue.

This would be much like how the King/Queen sets are right now, benefits that just should not be.

Not trying to dog the idea, even though it would be fun.

Is there a possibility to disable the function while being in Akram Arena/Crystal defenders - but have it working any time you're outside of it?

If they're able to disable Jelly beans etc in AA, why wouldn't it be possible that the bonus doesn't work in GA?
OR - Disable the function to work on anything that's PvP related. Like mentioned above, Sword summons wouldn't work with the gauge. Is that possible to do?

I'm asking because I'm not sure what Rose Devs are capable of with their current coding, but it feels like it wouldn't be too troublesome.

I mean, we wouldn't die from seeing plenty of moldies running around in AA..

No, but you would die from a Dual Raider with 2 Beast's, Buff Set on AP, Then buffed with stat buffers.

You would also die from a BC with 2 Dragons [who mind you have anywhere between 120k → 200k HP, making them incredibly hard to defeat while under the effects of healing.

Also imagine an Artisan with Judgement and Dreadnight, buffed the same way,

Or a Bourge with 5 Merc's.

Also, this being globally accepted for PvP that costume effects just shouldn't work, goes hand in hand with the PvM Communities requests to make the Dungeons Harder! not easier... I mean, I have been able to run a Mage through CoU in lvl 50 Valor items, a Cannon Artisan NAKED, and Solo'd Shamman + Executioner on a Dual Raider. I mean, the PvE content is hands down TOO easy if you're even remotely familiar with how it plays.

That's why the Kings sets, and any further Combat Stat costumes should not be added, and should be removed if they exist.

I'm not talking about PvP bonuses at all. I'm solely talking about looks. I don't want it to interfere with any PvP or Combat related things. If it's possible to limit gauge that way, it would be great.

It would be entirely possible to limit it to specifics, but I would believe they would have to modify it a little to make it like a PvM only gem or something.

This would then involve changing how gems in general work ( PvE, PvP, Both )

Well you're in luck I guess.

If you're going for looks only, you can wait until they perform the pet system they've talked about.

As far as combat, I can't back this proposal at all. It confuses things, makes the coding more complicated, can lead to imbalances and head aches. Over-all, to risk this many problems over nothing but aesthetics is a bad move.
