I keep reading forums stating that the skill "Upgrade Weapon" on a mechanic is much worse than that of a mastersmith due to the job lvl difference.  However all of these posts are from 2010-2012.

 

Now that it is 2016, is this still the case? 

 

I just got my MS to Mechanic, and I frequently use that skill. I  am hoping it has been fixed but can't find anything on it.

Unfortunately it won't be "fixed" until Mechanics can get to job 70.

If you are looking to continue using that skill for upgrading, it's better to make another MS and leave it there at job 70.
