Hello everyone.

I played Dragon Saga a few years ago, don't remember any of it right now so i am just going to start fresh and was wondering what would be the better pick for me.

I will mainly be doing PvE content as that is what i enjoy and -->>non-funded<<--, my goal is to reach the current "end-game" so last class change and grinding the top sets for which ever class i end up going with (i realize tho that it will take some time to get to that stage of the game, but nonetheless it is my goal :D), preferably a class that has no trouble to solo stuff but is still useful for group content as i do plan on trying out everything the game has to offer (even pvp at some point, but not something i really find important ^^).

Appreciate any advice/tip on what class to choose.

P.S: I read the other threads which was about the same subject but found them to be either out-of-date or not as specific as mine, do apologize for yet another "what class to pick!" thread.

First of all there is good news. When you pve, you naturally get stacked because you earn gold farming stuff and so on, that's basically pve so gearing up shouldn't be a massive problem. The problem ironically appears when you want to upgrade and want it now. Of course you can't just enchant everything to max instantly if you are playing free to play, it takes time and effort, but it is reachable. Some players here are as stacked as top players without spending a penny, they just took there time.

As for picking a class there are 3 classes that come into my mind that fits your criteria. Summoner, Invoker, and Sorcerer.

Summoners do massive damage end game and when you stack it up, the damage skyrockets. This class excels in dungeon runs such as the end game dungeon Elga and is the only class able to solo this dungeon and have time to "farm" materials. Every other class will have trouble to do it alone and must need help to clear at a decent pace. However this class has trouble stacking up a score of SSS or SS or S in mission maps in which many players try to get so that they can sell items they earn from it. It's possible but it takes a while to rack up points compared to other classes.

Sorcerers are excellent in every dungeon, except elga. They take a ridiculous amount of time, but the fact is that you CAN do it. This class is really good at racking up points in mission maps so farming gold with yourself is nice, you can party up too. This class can also heal, but not like invokers so they are still useful in parties.

Invokers are in the same boat with racking up SSS in mission maps like summoners. This class can still do it but it requires a little bit more effort than only spamming 1 button. They can do elga, but at a much slower pace than summoners. This class can heal and is quite useful in parties. Read mikes guide to invokers if you can or plan to make this.

This is the most recent invoker guide.

I don't like recommending people classes, I try to convince players on to choose something they like for whatever reasons I provide.

As for summoners- Leveling will be painful from 20-43ish. They bloom once you hit around 44 or 45 when you get smart shot maxed out and it's worth the hardships. So please don't turn away from this class if you find it hard to level or think they have no damage potential early on in the game.

Sorc+invoker pre-jobchange- They face trouble when leveling from 1-20. invokers will lack dps until they get diffusion canon, and will bloom again once you get double shot. Sorcs will get some good aoe dps after level 20 which is extremely helpful.

Ps: Even though some topics may be started a long time ago, some of them are updated, you can see when they last edited the message at the bottom of the post  as you will see on mine (to fix some spelling or whatever)

However, if you want to rethink over this and maybe try out a different class than this 3 mentioned feel free to pm me and I will expand on anything you want. I do not want you to disregard the other classes because of your criteria, they do have their perks and you should try them out at one point or another.

Thanks for the awesome informative reply =), considering that it will be my first character and that i want to build a stable foundation for future characters, is it really important to get S/SS/SSS ranks on mission maps? will i get much less gold/h farming with a Summoner vs. Sorcerer for example? don't know how important soloing Elga is, just know that it's a raid boss (watched a youtube vid of a kill :P), and will it be harder to earn stuff as a free player as a Summoner than with Invoker and Sorcerer at the current "end-game" ?

To be able to do elga properly you will have to stack your summoner. So stacking will come regardless.

I think sorcerer is your best bet for a stable income. You can make it your gold maker or whatever, then stack whatever else characters you want and so on and so forth. To farm gold efficiently all you need is a couple gear, not enchanted, and a fully enchanted weapon that's about it. Basically you farm to farm faster XD.

F gives you 0 Items
D gives you 1 item
C gives you 2 Items

B gives you 3 items
A gives you 3 items
S/SS/SSS gives you 4 items

If you play invoker or summoner and only press x to clear maps you will 100% earn an F. You can still get an SSS if you use skills, but primarily these classes are x spam oriented.

I see, well that seems reasonable, btw by "stacking" do you mean pooling my farmed resources into my other characters?

I always liked magic users in games, so Sorcerer will be a fitting pick for me then :D

Stacking some stat means you focus heavily on gaining that specific stats and perhaps a few other ones that go well with it. For example you can stack cdmg, crit and damage as those 3 go well together. When you are stacked that means your char is basically as strong as it's going to get.

Stacking just means you upgrade your equipment, and also getting the correct gear. Also like what precrush said.

If you want to stack a different character you can just take the gold from your sorcerer then use it on your other character.
