I got a couple of medals steam didn't recognize, and now I have to make a new character if I want those.
You're maybe already working on this, but medals in-game and on steam should auto-sync, or even create some manual sync option. I understand Steam is new and a lot is to come, so it's no complaint. I just feel it should also be a written suggestion.

I create another char only just for test. Lvl up 10 lvl and no steam achievements again. This my third char, first char need to lvl up for dragonkind unlock. Main - summoner lvl 48 And third lvl 10 up today. I don't have any leveling achievements in steam.
