I wanted to ask everyone's thoughts on vending in Ragnarok Online.

Do you think Its outdated?

Do you like how it works?

Do you think it should change?

 

Just asking everyone's personal opinion on Vending in general.

 

My opinion is that it is outdated. This comes from my experience playing other games that have far better or worse systems than Ragnarok Online. (Some force you to pay just to trade) I have come to dislike vending personally because it requires me to put a character on hold or eat up some of my computers power just to sell items throughout the day. I would like the system to change, but at the same time I know that it is very unlikely it will change. What are your thoughts?

I agree it's outdated. Give us the Vending Limit Increase update and we'll be all happy.

WP should cripple a botting programm, that you can use it only for vending and then release it for the players,

 

so people can legally use it.

I played on a "Questionable" Ragnarok Online server before and I can agree with you that offline vending was an excellent feature.

In the current live stream they said they would try to get it in the April patch, but it might not be possible.

and a revamp oon auction house.

Vending Update and Offline Vending would be the perfect combination - I actually like the "flair" of how vending is done in the game - besides the current mentioned disadvantages.

FYI, what im suggesting is different with auction house,

 

Auction House need to pay tax when u gonna put them in there.

 

But when offline vend with tax... the tax is only happen after someone buy ur stuff.

 

(its a private server system that i played before)

10% tax offline will only increase vending prices to compensate for the tax, then people wont buy, then people will have to endure vending online again. maybe 1% tax if you really want it implemented.

With offline vending, it would make it 1000% times easier for people to price fix and otherwise abuse the auction house. A higher tax would prevent anyone from constantly adding and taking away items. That's how it works in Luminary.

 

I'd agree that 10% is too high. But 1% too low, so maybe 5%?

He's talking about a client side save point so if he disconnects with 12 items vending at X price, you can have the option to hit Vend skill and automatically populates your last vend. Similar to 'Chrome has crashed, would you like to reload your previous session tabs?'

I like the vending in ragnarok more than any mmo i've played with an auction house. i don't like having to calculate taxes in my purchase and vending prices, it makes my math too complicated and eats into my profits. not to mention an auction house makes running a monopoly super easy. and bots are already a huge problem. auction house bots are 100X worse than farming bots. 

 

sure i would like to see some improvements. specifically longer shop names, but that's mostly for my own amusement. vend limit increase and max  sell price increase would be nice, but i'll live with out it. 
 

i like here that i actually get to set up a shop, not hand my item over to an npc to list with 20 other items just like it and hope someone happens to be looking for it. i want to make up a catchy shop name or shout something clever in your face to get your attention, and then have you come peruse my wares and possibly trade or haggle with me. it feels more like actually owning a shop too me, and less like exchanging loot at the money store. 

but that's just me.
