Hello!

 

I have recently returned to playing RO and am certainly trying to re-learn the game.  ^_^

 

Can anyone advise where the best place to level a lvl 38 archer solo?

 

Also any and all suggestions for gear would be GREATLY appreciated!

if youre just starting out i recommend free eden gears. are you planning to become a hunter or performer?

a good spot from 40-56 is groves 2 maps west of comodo

from 38-40 w/e map you were using to get to 38 just grind that out to 40

Last time I played I was a Hunter.  Not sure exactly what  that verses a performer would be?  (omg I sound so lame hahaha)

What are your views on each class?  Isn't Ranger in there somewhere?

Screw this, it's easy.

 

Spores until 25, Poison Spores until 45, Orcs until 75, Low TI -> 99/50

 

Use Arrow Shower for good AoE Spam, Get 2x Bow Guardian Cards and toss em in a gakkung, amazing DPS.

I leveled at Greatest General from 35 to 40-45 level, then when for Orcs. Greatest General helps you with reduced to no potion costs and it is quite good exp wise.

Once you reach to a level you find comfortable to take on orcs, make sure you have Arrow shower to push the approaching orcs and give them good damage.

 

After you hit 50-55ish, you can either buy maneaters to level to 71 or grind at Orc/Geos/Grand Pecos.

just spore till 25 than go orc till 40 than go orc dungeon till 56 than maneater blossom till 71 than if u vip warrp go warp with npc on eden to west orc till 85 or 90 than leech on magma till 99...!!

from lvl 1 - 56 can done in 30 minute with bmx3 n than maneater till 71 than go west orc with 2 bmx3 than just do 2 or 3 bmx3 leech on magma...

u can change job in 3-4 hour GG...!!

very2 easy.....

To be able to make concrete gear recommendations, it would help if you could tell us your current gear, what class you want to be and how much money you currently have at your disposal.

Archer -> Bard/Dancer -> Minstrel/Gypsy -> Maestro/Wanderer (Performers)

Rangers are considered good for new players and returnees because they don't require much gear (White Wing Set, which can be bought or obtained directly by farming Mora Coins yourself) and can still perfom at a level where you are sought after in TI's.

You will just hate your time as Hunter, because people hate Hunters and love Rangers =P

Performers are special in that they also can find spots in TI's, but they can be boring to play and require a certain investemnt in gear to truely perfom on a acceptable level outside of playing support songs.

Considering the Original Poster is a returnee and as such probably does not have the funds to buy Maneater Blossoms to Eden Board Quest to 71, this is rather unwise advice. (Better grammar would help also.)

Right now I am a lvl 43 Hunter and my gear....Is well rather a joke.  ^_^   I know I want to head towards Ranger...

 

I saved up and bought a Gakkung Bow and well I have regular shoes, muffler, gloves, and adventurer's Suit.  Sooo.... yeah.  very ground up.

do you play on the chaos or thor server?

If you play on chaos, I could give you a Hunter Bow because Hunter Bow + Hunting Arrows have a clear damage advantage over gakkung + any arrow.

Your gear sounds very basic, have you considered doing the Eden Group Equipment quests? Those give some special bonuses like weaker versions of immune garment and +hp/sp gear.

Since you are level 43 now, where did you level up till now? Groves or Orc Village?

It still would help to have better understanding of your funds, like do you have a million or less than that?

Thank you for the information!   I definitely want to go the Hunter -> Sniper -> Ranger trrack.  Is this a "track" in that you have to go Hunter THEN sniper THEN Ranger?  

 

As of right now I have maxed out my Job Level.  I am Base lvl 56 and Job lvl 50.

 

Couple Questions: I have not finished the Arrow Repel quest.   Do I have to complete this as an Archer?  Or can I still do this when another class?

 

Also - if one has to become a Hunter before Ranger(sniper) how does one get to Hunter Guild in Hugel?

for arrow repel you get it automatically after rebirthing um i dont really understand your questions but the job changing happens like this

Novice-->Archer at jlvl 10--->Hunter at jlvl 40-50(50 recommended for hunter bow)--->Ranger or Transcend to High Novice at lvl 99/50(Transcended is a must for a Ranger you get a lot of good bonuses and must have skills)---->High Archer at jlvl 10---->Sniper at jlvl 40-50(50 recommended for skill points)---->Ranger at lvl 99/50-70(70 recommended for skill points)

 

Also - If one is to go from Archer to Ranger ..... Where does one go for this? I was trying to look on iRO but wasn't having much success.

For job change to Hunter you go to Hugel by going to Hugel which you can do by talking to Keiki in prontera (97/121)

One wouldn't do that, FE, WW are just two very useful personal skills.

Am I the only one who did Ragglers in the 35-70 ranges? Those dudes are great money and they're brutes so hunter bow+hunting arrow+bow guardian+takoyaki+earth scroll one hit kills them on arrow shower.

One should go from Archer/Hunter to High Archer/Sniper by transcending, before going to Ranger. The additional stat points, skills and skill points are too valuable to pass up.
