Assuming you have one with high VIT,  say 14+ what would be the best card choices to throw in it? I'm thinking ghost whisper is good for damage increase although I see it being mostly marginal, I'm leaning towards DR as reductions are just too damn good to ignore. Just curious as to what some of the Sura veterans recommend.

i always thought that vit gfss is an offensive garment. Thing that you wear to achieve highest damage. It not like you will want to default it for tanking. In that sense, i will vote for wakwak (even better if you run 120str build), since i think that putting defensive garment card (raydric, nox, dr) is a waste to gfss.

especially for woe purpose. If you want redux, you will wear the full woe set, not gfss.
only wear it if you want to go full offense.

Would the ATK increase damage a noticable amount compared to say a Jejeling or Giant Whisper Card for a VIT based build though?

i am not sure why you would even consider jejeling as a good choice. at 120vit, it will give you a measly 2400hp.

as for the argument between GW vs Wakwak, it is almost the same argument between whether to choose tempVit or tempStr.
If you are stacking lot of racial% , for example, for woe purpose : CEB, G.mace, then those atk from wakwak it will add up.

edit: btw when choosing between tempVit and tempStr, you are basically choosing between
8%mHP vs 50atk. and generally, people will said tempStr is better.

with that in mind, which one do you think will be better?
3%mHP (gw) or 60atk (wakwak, assuming 120str)?

if your main focus is to TC, wakwak for maximum damage; (+STR boots for best results)

GW would give you mHP+3% and ATK+20 which makes it more balanced in terms of mHP and ATK;

mHP+3% is not too significant, but that may potentially save you from attacks that would have barely killed you (though you would be receiving more damage anyways, since you're breaking WoE set);

if you just like to (low/half HP) GoH more often, then GW would be preferable; (+VIT boots for even more mHP)

as already stated before this, both cases are essentially offensive setups so need to be a bit more cautious to avoid too much deaths;

I have seperate gear for fisting MvPs which a VIT GFSS won't really improve. So for now mostly PvM, I haven't really bothered with nor have the have the gear to PvP yet as I'm still on the road to 175. I have around 73k HP without the GFSS and over 80k with it. So really my question is how much more damage would I really be doing with either setup?

I'm currently a VIT 120 build but I could always reset to STR if it's that big of a difference. Currently I'm just shy of breaking the 100k Flash combo barrier without the GFSS on average.

What's the best way to calculate the damage difference?

INT GFSS would be for fisting;

for PvM/leveling, regardless of actual damage numbers, any major (fund-wise) gear improvement is only really worth it if it reduces the number of FCs you need to take down a mob (as it speeds up leveling);

as for end game WoE/PvP, any damage improvement is nice for better killing potential - so you will still have to choose between wakwak (TC) or GW (GoH) anyways;

best way to calculate damage difference is...just calculate it;

you know your setup (gears/build/buffs), and all the info for HP/SP/ATK/damage formulas are available online (irowiki);

with everything done right, you could get a fairly accurate min/ave/max damage per setup;

a very simplified TC damage formula (no combo modifier, no base level and SP contribution and no minor bonus damage portions) is this:  ATK * HP * (3/4000)

Doesn't sound like either is going to cut down on number of combos yet, no Tao or Megs unfortunately.

Thanks for the replies guys.

was just wondering some few things about gfss for a sura, hoping you can help me:

1. for TC build (leveling) does it have to be pure vit?

2. do i even need the cast reduc from +12?

3.can wakwak help me increase my TC damage?

4.vit or str tempo boots for TC+Gfss?

1. no. Need to be paired with a OGH Time Boot though for the combo effect.

2. not really

3. Yes

4. Not relevant. I would go for VIt though because of extra HP and survival.

Hey guys, I am also a noob Sura, and was wondering what to do for SP issues. Anyone have any experience with Nidd Garb? Does it make a significant difference in getting SP back?

I think SP is not a problem with sura. Zen>Power Absorb or Zen>Sphere Absorption, and go for RD 10 to have more SP back. it will just take time to fully restore your SP, budget wise it will save you a lot of SP consumable items.

Nid garb is good, but you need to mob in order to have more chances to proc the SP leech, same with RWH and Vana.  Is a High Risk, High reward strategy.

And Pork Adobo is right.  Suras have virtually infinite SP thanks to their Spheres and Power Absorb.

Zen -> Absorb ->Zen -> Absorb.  Every Sphere absorbed restores 1% of you max SP.  Rising dragon is even better because it not also let's you have more spheres, but also increases your max HP/SP for its duration.  At level 10 you have 15 Spheres and 12% more max SP

Of course RD has some heavy prereqs so you'll have to resort to SP leeching gear and maybe pets ( I think Incubus gives SP leech) while you level it up.

Also, carrying some Strawberries wouldn't hurt.
