Greetings, is warlock a good class? I plan on making one. However many forum threads prevent me from doing so.

Also are they an asset in WoE? Thank you for your time on reading my question and hopefully answering.

With anticipation.

PvP and WoE reduction for magic damages is 50% (CMIIW) and for ranged damage is 25% (CMIIW).

So,not really.Unless they have FBH which counters that reduction.

On topic:

However, you can still play your Warlock as support and debuff role in WoE without that card.

Stasis is quite good there.

Ranged autoattacks*

Not magic, but every skill has a 50% damage reduction in woe(minus GD and Grav Field)

Even with FBH, that alone wont make you kill. Still need to be paired with a good weapon, very high matk and spamability

Its possible to kill even withou FBH, tho its not recomended, and most big guilds will ask you to not play dmg if you dont have one or they dont have one to lend.

what video spam?

OP, Warlocks are as good as the player who drive them...

Most people here are going to tell you different things because that's their limitation... the best way to know more about the class is to ask people who are actually playing the class now AND have set some standards.

As of today, there are only 2 active warlocks worth naming, Kevin and I. So if you would like to get some more information, feel free to ask us.

Kevin does not come to forums but most of the "builds", "stats" and "plays" that you would see were set up by us a while ago (most people copy the good things hehe).

Just know that Warlocks are one of the weakest classes in iRO, but by weak I mean that they die easily... hence you need to find ways to avoid dying that often.

As Warlock, you can counter most things that other classes can't and depending on the build/stats, you can even be offensive and defensive at same time (Kevin and I styles).

It's not much about gears but how to get the most out of it... switching gears depending on situations, using different gears for other special skills, find ways to counter other classes w/o compromising much damage output... etc.

But like I mention before, it's all up to you to make the most out of the class.

Have fun and if you have any other question, feel free to ask away.

Take care =)

Warlocks are definitely an asset for woe, if not for damage/crowd control (rip freeze though) then for (sigh) stasis.

Basically you utilize the many AoE spells to slow down the advance of an enemy guild. Like using Jack Frost, Frost Nova, and  lv1 Storm Gust for their high freeze chance. Sienna exacrate for Stoning multiple people at once, Earth Strain to pick off low hp opponents and chance to divest their gear as well as hitting potentially hidden enemies. Basically you distract many opponents and leave them open for the rest of your guild mates to finish them off. I personally like using warlocks to dish out damage but doing so needs high end gears which is a real pain to get.

How much would be considered high end gear?

They r rated in the exact same order you listed, altho the first two options doesnt exist on Chaos server.

Btw... matk1% vs matk1% int1, is that really a question? '-"

Man. I've been playing Ragnarok for at least 10 years. But I am confident to say that there's no love for the Warlocks. :P

Ashuckel, 1 billion zeny will basically be a lame warlock then? Is there a budget friendly means of playing it?

You can make a WL that quite works with 1b yes. But far from being a good one i'd say.

Ps: i have pretty much every gear to make any class usefull, so im not the best person to make starter builds, since i use my leftovers form other classes, ans yhe are like +9 faw and etc lol

you can try going for stone status then firing a crimson rock or fire Tetra, or a freeze status and going for chain ghtning/lightning tetra. Double Elvira card greatly helps with lightning damage, but theyre pretty expensive as well. Its difficult to just straight up kill things unless you have FBH card or gear with nothing but increasing matk. Picking off Stoned/Frozen units with maximized tetra is your best bet of getting kills, if thats what you really want

Coz woe has -50% skill damage and people actually wear reductions in there

Pvp is just a one shot fest and everyone builds like a glass cannon

It depends on your build, skills, gear, etc.
