Say what? the OP said they wanted it to work like red envelopes where you double click on the item and it increases your zeny (or errors and doesn't proceed if it'd put you over 2.147b). And its obtained by talking to an NPC with menus that eats your zeny then spawns an item in your inventory.

 

What I don't get is why you're more interested in finding ways this can't work than finding ways it can work without causing problems.

Because it applies to only a few deals in the long run, and realistically there should be more practical ways than this.

 

P.S. Aren't you usually against iRO customisation?

right now, you can't even get two gms to agree on whether an mvp carded item is legitimate. if you asked them to determine the legitimacy of a 10 coin transaction that has been converted to zeny, spread amongst dozens of accounts via other transactions, mixed with other zeny and then reconstituted back into coins and used in additional transactions, i'm pretty sure the gm's head would explode.

at least you can't split a duped tao amongst 40 accounts. with this, you could. at some point the GMs would just say eff it and not even bother tracing.

Though you can already do it with zeny and the process wouldn't even change. so nothing would be different than it is now at all. so... invalidated.

if you can't see the difference in scale between the current state and these new 1 billion zeny coins then...i dunno what else to say. zeny isn't cryptocurrency; this is basically going to make laundering so easy anyone can do it. gold sellers would be chomping at the bit to have this implemented; why run bot farms to generate zeny when they can just dupe zeny coins?

The coins would add a step to moving around zeny... not speed or simplify it.

why not just increase/remove the zeny limit cap on character instead of implementing the coin?

Make a system where every item gets a unique ID including the coin. See ID's if they are generated close together in mass quantity's = ban.

 

Make a coin that you can get that costs 1000 zeny. Which you can trade in mass quantity's. This will up your character limit by 1000 = 2000 billion zeny's. Or een make it 100.000 zeny's each.

 

Dupers will still have a hard time duping stuff, because there are way better items to dupe.

 

Zeny problem solved.

I don't trust anything going thru the game client, I'd rather that system be isolated outside of game and something that is this side of the world that if there was a problem it could be spearheaded or fixed and not put on a docket 2 years down the road.

And they suffer from the same problems, bug abuse.  Also a GM is not equal to a Developer.
