I do not understand this system at All. Frin what i gathered from playing, All elemental attack damage is unaffected by a character's phy/mag defense. So 400 elemental attack will do 400 damage no matter ther defense of the enemy. Where i get absolutely lost is on the Elemental resistance. I have tried to test it out to no avail. Is the amount of elemental resistance equal to the attack? for example 400 Dark atk damage against 400 dark element resistance will end up doing 0 elemental damage?? Can anyone explain this?

People claimed that 11 element defense will usually absorb 1 element attack.

I didn't test it myself, so I can't really help you out, except by quoting people.

Edit : And guess what ? Looks like you better trust yourself.

the 11:1 rule more or less just applies in lower defense because actually the defense gives a % amount of reducing the elemental atk. I don't know the exact amount but it is more than 20k elemental def to absorb the elemental damage of others.

11:1 only applies to an extremely limited range that only fit the testing range of the tester himself, whoever thought of that number was not thinking about the overall range or didn't use enough plots/range of attack and resists. Elemental damage is based on % and % alone. Resistance does not give a flat amount of resistance either. I remember having a graph lying around somewhere with very accurate data on 0-100% range but I'm too lazy to find it or do anything with it. It's most likely lurking around forums around the community section I think.

So the amount of elemental resist needed to combat the elemental attack is a very steep ratio. Would it be a safe bet to just invest in elemental attack and forget about resist? I don't see the resist being at all worth it.

i think with the rare elga set you can focus already on Resistence if you plan on staying in that battlesquare

In actuality you can. You can even achieve optimal 4-element resist by level 75. However 75-79 is also very flexible in gears for different classes. Not every class benefits from their elga set. Some can benefit from Secmathian's, Bone set mixes (Sentinel/Savage), etc.

Also Rare Elga requires quite the effort to farm as well. Having to get a farming party made to get you all 6 pieces required for the 4-element bonus.

You can also have a look at this one : https://forums.warpp...item/?p=2287503

I am finding numbers around 190-210 resistance for 1% damage mitigation though.

Very sorry, I had to quote this one. Hopeless fanboy of Kirisaki Chitoge here (Ojou-sama ~ ). Maybe I should watch Nisekoi a fifth time...
