Hi. sort of a new player here. I'm thinking of making a brewer to earn some income for my main character. When is the earliest possible time to start brewing? I currently have a 99/50 alchemist with the following stats:

Int 41

Dex 87

Luk 99

is it plausible to start brewing with those stats if i get my hands on better gears for brewing and if I can have a minstrel/gypsy who can give buff me with marionette control? also, i'm working on a vanilmirth right now

also is it worth grinding all the way to 175/60 gene just to make a brewer? (instead of settling for 99/70 Biochemist) Of course it's the most ideal choice for making a brewer but the cost and the time for levelling all the way to 175/60 makes you think if it's possible to start brewing as biochem or alche just to kickstart your income

Earliest would be (to make it lucrative somehow) 99/70 Creator/Biochem.

Would still go for 175/60 Gene because of the brewing possibilities.

If you MUST go this route for making zeny, then the gen is worth the investment.

Maxed gene also requires less investment in specific gears since you have a freakin lot of points to put in dex/luk/int and even some str to brew more at a time.

My 175 brewer gene has likr 70 ish str, 110~120 on dex/luk/int

well that's the most ideal way to go. but will a 99/70 biochem make a decent and profitable pure brewer? just to kickstart funds so i can gear up for levelling from 100-175

Diference is your variety, as biochem you are limited to coats, plant bottles and avid bomb packs, as to enter the ranked slim market you need to wait for the rank to reset.

And as gene you can brew all that, plus all the +20 foods, stuff like celermine, hp increase, sp increase, vitata 500, etc

I have a gene that is 115 int, 120 dex, 90 luk. Brews at around 95% for food, pots, spec pharmacy. (with buffs and stuffs...I NEVER use MC though)

That gene can also run all instances and isn't just a wasted slot for potting :v

You mean it's almost impossible to get into the top 10 because of the veterans who's been there for years? Every when do ranks reset?

BTW, how is the market for brewers going? Is condensed white potion still an essential in WoE and PvM?

You need to make a HUUUUUUUUGE amount to catch up to the top 10 if the reset didnt happened recently. Unranked slims wont make you profit. Its a huge investment for the risk of not even having a return. If wish to enter the slim market, start when the ranks resey

I feel the same man. They really should reset the rank every couple week or a month to give newer guys a chance. The top ranked potter probably just do one big batch and went afk for months. The rich stays rich and the poor stays poor in this game, just like real life XD

There's plenty of other ways to make zeny.
It would honestly be pointless to even have a ranking system if it reset so often.

Make bomb sets for money, not slims, no need to be ranked to do bombs and they sell just as fast/if not faster/more profit, just a little more effort to brew (more supplies)

The argument is true only if the ranked pot doesn't give 50% bonus though. Resetting more often will make brewing more competitive, which is good for everyone.

Right now only the elites can get into the market. Spend few hours brewing 200 pot a cast, then go afk vend for the rest of the week/month/etc. Newer guys without those expensive gears and high level buff slaves stand no chance of getting in the market. With frequent reset, it shouldn't really effect the ranked potter as they can just remake a huge loads of slims, but at least the new brewers can tap into the market once in awhile.

People will buy from trusted individuals that stay ranked.
If you fall off the list, the person just overpaid for a crappy potion.
Most of the people on the list are guild potters and it will always be like this.
You have to be dedicated and continuously buy sands from other players and to compete with the ones that bot potion making.

At least on iRO, potion making is not a good way for newer players to even think about making zeny.
A friend of mine still has millions of sands from WPS tokens.

Yeah, probably best to make slims for yourself for ease of leveling yourself or other characters.
