Hi,

 

I was WoEing today, and kept getting stone cursed (turning black) and occasional sleep while wearing a nightmare card and undead armor. Is this a bug? Or these gears don't work in WoE? There are also times I can't cast a spell at all, but there's no status indication.

base level also affects resistance.

 

(i think) you can't have status immunity if you're below the opposing enemy's base level.
only 1 base level away  

 

i may be wrong though.

cards/gears that grant you immunity should never be uneffective, regardless of the enemy lvl

Sure you're not just getting Cursed Circle, Deep Sleep, or Stasis'ed? Cursed Circle does look like your in stone cursed status and Deep Sleep does look like regular sleep status. As for not being able to cast spells that is Stasis.

I think it's probably cursed circle and deep sleep. I am still new to this game just started 3-4 weeks ago lol. I guess there are no immunities to those right? Does 100mdef have any extra immunities other than undead armor? I've been hunting Black Rosary but now I might as well give up.

yeah. 100 mdef won't get you lit up by dragonbreath.

From my experience so far, DB wasn't really an issue for AB as I usually stay inside pneuma and not in the front line / precast area. Regardless, I think you are still pretty lit from DB with 100mdef, especially from Tao users. I was wearing unfrozen and still getting one shotted when a whole guild spam stuffs into me. Hell half the time I don't even know what hit mein my penuma and I am back to spawn point with all the lag spikes going on.

 

Since you're mostly die to most stuff in 1-2 shots, I don't think taking 25% more damage to water/fire really matter as the result is the same (1-2 shot dead). Stone cursed and frozen will probably affect you more in a penuma as you can't cast lauda to help your team out. Contrary to everybody was saying, I kind of think that undead may actually be a good and effective alternative to 100mdef in WoE renewal, except maybe when entering pre cast area I just swap out unfrozen.
