Playing matchmaker to players, could be a thing that would be a non-creepy way to have players meet people and join relationships. Marketing it as 'buying a bride' where people are putting their information into a outside website and there's money being held in escrow makes it seem more like a shady operation.

I definitely understand this.  Either way it would be placing information into an outside website... The escrow is to keep people from being ripped off, but the zeny is a incentive to bring in brides.   My fee is enough to pay the marriage costs and my time. I don't require information from people and tbh the site doesn't even need a "real" email to make an account so far... Just a basic product and checkout setup.   If things go haywire, I don't mind closing up shop.

 

TBH, doing it this way removes harassment in many forms from the table.  If it was a ingame dating site, with allowing PMs, photo uploading, etc, it would be a huge mess... Ask a female you know about online dating (if they have tried it) it is basically filtering out disgusting requests vs actual thoughtful messages. 

 

All in all if a bride doesn't wish to charge anything , that is perfectly fine.  I won't pay for the marriage materials however.
