Anyone have information on the size of each map? I was going to do an in-game survey using /where, but I thought it best to ask here, in case someone already has the data.

Edit:

To clarify, by size, I am referring to the length and width of the map in cells.

I just know the relative ranking, I dont have actual stat. The biggest stage in the game to my knowledge is Pyramid B4 the Osiris stage; smallest is newbie training ground.

if you decide to do survey, I suggest doing it with a thief so you can quickly back slide and count the # of backslides.

I assume he's asking in terms of cell size. I presume the maps are about 300x300 cells big, but there are some maps that are smaller.

^This. Edited the OP for clarification.

I'd just move to the upper right most cell (per the default camera angle) and use the /where command to get the coordinates.

Does size really matter? Does the length and width really matter?

I imagine it's domething to consider when doing seasonal event quests with unique mobs. North Veins field was incredibly crowded in these events for doing so, until bots ruined it for everyone else and they stopped spawning mobs there altogether.

That makes sense. Wouldn't going to the tip be more beneficial and easier? For example go to north point and do /where, then go to south point and do /where. Subtract and you have one axis done. Or is this by square cellage because it would be very time consuming to figure that out due to most maps not being a perfect square.

Sure if you are just getting the map size. If you're counting occupyable cells, then there's no other way but to actually count. Someone mentioned Divine Pride copy maps, I never even thought about it because I'm still stuck in db.irowiki method, but that sounds like a great way to do it.

Either way, would be much easier and quicker to use the Divine Pride maps.

(These are numbers of traversable cells, not width x height.)

Divine pride has pixel perfect maps. 1 cell = 1 pixel.

These are the same? If they're scaled accordingly that would work perfectly.

The images on divine pride are 1:1 pixels to cells, so if an image is 312 x 392 (prontera), the corresponding map is also 312 x 392.

The images on choobs are 2x size (for easier viewing) after stripping the top row and right column. To get the original map dimensions, you'd have to divide each image dimension by 2, then add 1. Example: prontera 622 x 782 -> (622/2)+1 x (782/2)+1 -> 312 x 392

This doesn't include rooms inside the map (which are their own map as well I believe).

Some maps include rooms inside the actual map.  Other maps have the rooms on a separate map.  The only way to know is if you go through a loading screen when entering the warp.
