I may have made some "less than optimal" choices. I have 2 alch characters. The first is 108 genetic with a 108 vani>eira. The second is a 62 alch with 75 filir (planned for eleanor). My current genie is a CC/AB/throw build, and the second alch is going agi/vit afkemist then going full potter after rebirth. The filir is still "low enough" to replace if I need to. I went filir because it is a fast killer for me.

 

Suggestions on what to do about them?

Let me ask you..... Has the Eira give some tangible benefit? If the answer is no, remake to a Dieter and/or Sera.

Your second Gene, remake with Vanil base since you're going to be a potter and Vanils give 5% better success rate when making Pots.

Why is Sera better than Eira? And what base should it start at? Can the potter one go vani>eira?

If you are solo player, sera is the best for its painkiller but if you got friends to play most of time, go for dieter. Its base can be anything, amistr is the best but slow to level due to no active skill only autoattack.

I've been reading those a lot today. Having a level 108 homunculus-S is a pretty big investment to ditch. I don't mind making the potter one a vani>eira. My main would go what, amstir>sera? Pretty much everyone I knew that played has quit so I'm flying solo until I can make new friends on here.

 

I guess I can remake main one if the end result is worth it.

If you think you will solo most of the time when doing big thing like MVPing, instances:

 

For the long run, amistr>sera. Tanky + painkiller.  amist bulwark give +30 vit . And castling is no joke, it saves me many time. But amistr base is pain to level until you get sera's poison mist.

 

Or Vanil > Sera. Just download azzy Ai and turn on autokillsteal, easy levels. Got extra brewing bonus too.

 

 

If you think you prefer party play, go Dieter. Volcanic ash is so good for woe too

 

If you still has doubt, take time to walk around prontera, south pront field and lightalzen  and see which homun has more popularity.

I do use AzzyAI. I don't woe/pvp so that isn't an issue.

 

Looks like main will be amstir>sera, and potter is vani>eira. I really wanted an eleanor

Ok remade them (felt kind of sick deleting my Eira). I do have a question. It seems the primary/only reason for Sera is the pain killer ability. If I'm going to solo ET and whatnot, would Eleanor be as good since she can deal lots of damage?

not worth it really. Eleanor may deal lots of dmg compared to other homuns but you will deal A LOT more damage. Because of this you want either a Homun S that will help you survive(Sera) or make you hit harder(Dieter).

 

At the end of the day is your choice though. Sera and Dieter would be my only 2 choices but that is because of my play style and end game activities. If you want to have some fun with Eleanor and you like it, you can make it.

On a side note, I'm using AzzyAI and my homunculi will NOT attack andre/pierre/deniro/vitata no matter what settings I put in. They will attack anything else, and will attack the ants only if I set to auto-KS and someone else attacks one, but not on their own. How do I fix that?

First, make sure you use latest AI.

 

Second, did you change the configuration on Homunculus tactics tab for the specific monster? I think the default Ai for basic behaviour is react low. Change it to attack high/mid/low. Read the documentation pdf file for further explanation on how to configure ai.

AzzyAI v1.54 is the latest one I can find. I set all of those to attack (medium) and they are still ignored.

I guess what I have actually *is* 1.55. Still can't auto-attack ants.

I had 150 sera before yes painkiller is good but formula is working on actually low damages. While mvping its not a good choice for me, dieter always better than sera in my opinion. Pyroclastic is really good for dmg, also granictic and volcanic ash are helpful for certain situations while mvping. Never used other homuns yet.
