CURSED GHOST SHIP
Mind your step, the floorboards are mostly rotted through in places, and the ocean breeze cannot mask the putrid stench heavy in the air. But that’s alright – you aren’t here for the scenery, but for the undead crew doomed to forever staff Drake’s last voyage. This is no pleasure cruise as it is a final resting place rife with apparitions that will terrify all who dare visit this site.
The first thing that strikes you is the chill - there is no wind and no ice, but the air is frozen, and it freezes. It slides into your bones and in between your muscles. It only worsens when you spot them - the fleshless mobs of skeletons whose eyeless eyes have seen you. If you stay near the front of the ship with Kayak Dunston, the sunshine will protect you enough to observe them from a safe distance.
Only the brave dare to venture deep into the heart of this rotten ancient husk of a ship that refuses to die - or is refused death. For your courage, you might be rewarded with a glance of the immortal captain Drake: taller than the legends say, fiercer than you've heard, and terrifying should you be fortunate (or unfortunate) to catch a glimpse of him.
PAYON RUINS
Payon Forest is the home to many spirits, both friendly and otherwise; inhabitants in this part of Midgard are all too familiar with sudden shivers and whispers drifting in with the wind. Any true ghost enthusiast has to pay a visit to the Payon Ruins, just southwest of the Crusader Post. Part rural village, the ruins also houses an abandoned graveyard haunted by malevolent Horongs. Locals will tell those seeking a thrill of a lifetime that some of these spirits - usually protectors - can be cursed at times so some caution is advised.
We suggest a walking tour with our trained, professional and knowledgeable tour guides, who take you step by step through the ruined village safely and securely, point out some of the more fascinating tombstones and explain the sad history of the hauntingly beautiful Sohees. We can even arrange for you to catch a glimpse of the legendary Witch Leira from a safe distance, and take home a scrap of a Sohee scarf, to remember your time here in the Payon Ruins.
SECRET FOREST TOMB
Buried in a corner of Payon Forest, the Secret Forest Tomb is the grave of a terrible, tragic yet rich history. Witness for yourself the sad beauty of the Sobbing Sohees, whose distraught wails for their sweethearts echo through empty hallways and bounce off damp walls. Wander through the vast chambers of the Tombs as you encounter the local fauna which has made the location their home. Avoid the Horongs as you wind your way towards Sehee, the restless spirit whose deceit unravelled the ties between two lovers and ultimately ended in the suicide of her sister. Your guide will advise that you plug your ears before entering her chamber – it would be in your best interest to heed their warning.
Should you manage to make it to the fourth and final floor, a long hidden Payon secret may await you, culminating in the experience of a lifetime which you will never forget. The Secret Forest Tomb awaits - all you have to do is step on through.
TOMB OF OSIRIS
If you are fascinated by grand architecture and desert mystique, come for a breath-taking tour of the ancient mausoleum of grand spirits: the Tomb of Osiris! Located in the northwestern corner of Morroc City itself, the Tomb contains features no other city in Midgard can compare, boasting columns decorated with hieroglyphs and fine sandstone fit for a king. A location of immense historical importance, this tomb is also open to a select number of public visitors per day for spine-chilling thrills.
Upon entry, you will be reminded to be suitably respectful and to refrain from interacting with the undead, which have the tendency to be murderous when they come into contact with live flesh. Observe the once-men Osiris called his personal staff, ranging from Skeleton Generals to Requiems as you navigate the labyrinths. Witness, first-hand, the grotesque Goules and imposing Zombie Masters, once as alive as you are. If you’re careful, you may even have a face-to-face encounter with the Gods entombed within this marvellous structure: Set, Anubis and Osiris himself. What are you waiting for? Come on down to Morroc City, and let the city welcome you to its best-kept open secret.
KUSHINADA'S GRAVE
Bored of the ruins and dusty tombs? Tired of the same old overground trek? Take an adventure out in the sun, boasting calm greenery and soothing landscapes as you trek towards Lady Kushinada’s resting place, hidden in the depths of the scenic but challenging Forgotten Payon. One of the most dangerous routes, we highly advise you be well-geared and equipped before setting out on this particular ghost-tour, as the path will be littered with dangerous (if alive) monsters. Our guide will point out the various rest stops travellers can take to safely take respite along the way.
At last, if you’re lucky as you come up the path, there before you shall stand the lovely Lady herself, surrounded by her Panda bodyguards and Condor companions. Armed with a tragic backstory woven through with local lore, her beauty is enchanting, but is merely a mirage for the terrifying spirit. Visitors are advised to admire from a distance, and to refrain from taking photos, so as to prevent her attention from being drawn to you.
