RK is more of a heavy duty AOE damage dealer where you can excel in many areas in PvM, MvP, and WoE with just 1 build, The Dragon breath build. RK is hard to take down, deal good damage, and less buff dependent than many other classes. You can afford to die, ress, and back in actions right way. Some other classes will need to cast all sort of buffs and +20 food and etc just to become effective again. RK is also easier to level due to access to many AOE skills and RK is always welcomed in almost any party. Also good RK knows how to use rune to improve survivability and damage output even further. Even though RK can pull, tank, and support party via runes, that jobs are best left with RG and Suras who are naturally better at those.
Cons:
Very weak against Holy element.
Very much gear dependent character.
Tied to a party kind of a character. DB RK is heavily relied on party such as Magic String, Sacrement, and Gypsy's Kiss to become effective.
The physical melee build got a short end of the stick in PvM. So you're just pretty much a lizard neck with swords and spears.
RG is a more versatile sword man. RG can be a great synergy for a party with various party buffs or he can opt to be a soloist and ready for single target action. RG is naturally a better puller and tanker due to available skills. RG will also have more MvPing potential than RK due to more high DPS single target skills that's not limited to fire and water. RG is also not tied to having a party to perform effectively like averaged gears RK do. Despite RG can generally perform many roles better than an RK can, RG lack's of any decent AOE skills means he can never replaces RK when it comes to heavy duty AOE damage dealer.
Cons of RG:
Harder to level due to lack of AOE, skills point wasted into Faith, and party often prefer GX for pulling and Sura for tanking. Also not many people understand the benefits of having RG in a party, so RG is often get left out in the rain.
Versatile but not a very specialized class, as many of its role can be performed better by other specialized classes.
More maintenance than RK. More buffs to cast and maintaining the experience point to cast inspirational is annoying.
RG and RK goes toe to toe in duel situation. They both have deadly skills that can counter each other. So it comes down to resources and individual skills. Non-potting RG and RK are still horrible tanks from AB perspective. RG and RK low reduction and high HP pool are nightmare to AB's SP pool, since healing skills don't scale well into the third class at all. Much easier to heal MS sura taking 50-100 damage per shot. Anyways lastly they are also both kind of expensive to gear.
