Chimmie already said it basically, the problem must be on your end - there is no other possibility. Sadly nobody on here will be able to help you out with that.
You can do two more things:
- reinstall windows, completely (if you want to do that for a game that is)
- downgrade your graphics card driver waaaaay down to a previous version and check that (other newer games might stop working...)
Question:
Did you change something of your hardware since the good old Dragonica EU days?
If the answer to that is a YES (for example a new graphics card/ Intel Core I7). Right there is your problem.
DragonSaga does not like some I7 - we have a few ones that disabled hyperthreading in their BIOS what made them able to play.
Others can simply play without any problems.
I'm assuming you put DragonSaga to the exceptions of your antivirus/firewall.
Last thing that helped others was : install your game into a different folder, not on C: and name it for example SagonDraga.
There is nothing more on my mind what I would know to help you out, sorry.

Yes I allready figured indeed that it was not the game, which I originally thougt it was. Downgrading my graphic card driver I will not do and I'm not sure yet about the reinstalling of windows. I did not change anything for hardware since Dragonica EU. I allowed it indeed as exception and installing it in a different folder I have allready tried.
Thanks for the options,
I really appreciate all of you who tried to help me out!

You may could try, to reduce your System memory (RAM) from 6 GB to only 4 GB, if possible >.<
3GB Modules doesnt exist. I guess, your Notebook uses 1x 4GB and 1x 2GB.
Mixed RAM configuration (different sizes or different serials/manufacturers) are known, also from my experience, for causing errors and problems like this.
EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION is an problem in the Memory management system.
The Code C0000005 means the code/app tries to access an invalid memory address.
You also could try to test your Memory with memtest86, but that might take a few hours.
After its done it displays if there are some problems related to your system memory
Sometimes this memory error also can be caused by outdated .NET Framework, which is a main component for running most apps correctly.
Both versions, 3 and 4 needs to be installed and updated correctly, Check Windows Features and -Update.
I hope this may help to solve this problem.
Greetings^^
