Hey guys, It has been YEARS since I've played RO1 and I remember some good times from when I was in middle school playing. However, now that I have some free time and a laptop that isn't as advanced as I am normally used to, RO1 seemed like a fun a game to play again. However, I can't recover any of my old accounts and will then be starting from scratch. 

 

I'm curious if you have any suggestions for a first class/job for an account just starting out that will allow me to continue to progress and mostly solo play a vast majority of the game. Also, which server would probably be best to start on?

 

Also, how are the current pricing / inflation of the game economies? I just want to know a basis so I can gauge my own monetary gain to the standard and know when I go from being poor to...being moderately financed  

 

If there are any very newbie friendly guilds to join or people who are willing to add and talk in game please drop your ign so I can add you as a friend. 

 

Please send me any tips you suggest for someone starting out completely from scratch and assume I have no actual game knowledge since it has been years since I've played and I never remember actually going that far honestly.....

Class for back to square one: THIEF class to assasin (focus on Agi & Dex Only for now until you become 105)

Okay. Just started on Chaos. I'm curious is there a way to make other players hidden or their chat boxes for buying and selling? 
I'm finding it impossible to click on the ground to move, i don't know if that is simply my WiFi providing a lag and not allowing me to move on the ground far from my character to make him move. 

Also, what is the ratio for AGI and DEX. Should I just try and get like focus on one in increments of 10. Like 10 AGI then 10 DEX then 20 AGI then 20 DEX and so on. Or should I just put it all in AGI until 30 then put 20 in DEX. Then work on AGI.

The economy is not very new player friendly. So if you completely start from scratch with zero zeny, here is the easiest guide:

1. Spend $50 to $100 on WPE.
2. Convert WPE -> Item Mall Points. Maybe get VIP also. 

3. Make a chat room in Eden  S> 100KP / 12-13M. Ignore low ballers.
4. Once the buyer comes in, he will ask you for items from the cash shop. You buy those items and he will pay the zeny for it at 12m or 13m per every 100KP spent. 
5. Use that zeny to gear up your character decently enough. 1,000m is a small chuck of zeny in this server, so don't buy anything over +9 and just gear yourself moderately decent (500-1B range total).

6. Use left over zeny to play the market to make more zeny. Or use it to fund yourself leveling expenses and pots. 

Tip: 
Don't gamble if you can't afford to throw away that zeny or USD.  RWC Enchants, Silvervine, Lucky boxes, HD Elu, Enrich Elu, Safe 10 Certificate are all gamble. Some people spent $200 USD trying to upgrade +9 to +10 and gets nothing in return.

Don't spend too much on WPE, it can be addiciting. Keep track of your spendings. I saw some people blow thousands of dollars and later regretted.

Never buy anything fancy for non-third class gears. They go obsolete really quickly. Always invest in the end game gear.

Don't want to buy any Kafra Points?
You can play support class like archbishop / maestro / wanderer and you can use Eden gear all the way to 175. You can get Eden gears once you level 30. For damage dealing classes, Eden gears are pretty terrible especially once you hit third class. Gears in this server are usually at least in several hundred millions. If you don't want to pay and want to play damage classes, then you're up for months worth of grind to afford 1-2 piece of equipments as they are outrageously expensive.

  First if you have never heard the term RENEWAL then you played before 2010 and this matters a LOT.

 

  Classic servers are the way the game was before 2010.  Certain things in the game mechanics have been overhauled.  If you played back then you will probably remember that Damage was very heavily reliant on Str/Int and not so much on the Weapon you used unless it was "Carded".

 

  I actually think that ARCHER > HUNTER Rebirth (aka Transcending) High Archer > Sniper > RANGER is probably one of the best classes for a brand new player actually.  Double Strafing and pumping Dex to 90 and then Int is a super quick way to level up.  Dex/Int/Luk 9 for starting stats when you create your character is a good start.

 

  With Hunters the only gear you really have to worry about is getting a Hunters Bow to use with Hunting Arrows from level 33-99.  The non slot version of this is only 50k zenny in game and is even given for free if you change to Hunter as a Job 50 Archer.

 

  Very easy to level class especially with the added benefit of the Land Mine, Claymore and Blast Mine (Earth/Fire/Wind) Traps.

 

  Ounce you rebirth and make it to 3rd class Ranger you can pretty easily get the White Wing Mora equipment set just by doing "Find the Research Tools" quest without spending anything really.  You will get an Elven Bow, ~5.5m, and Elven Arrows to replace your Hunters Bow.  This can do you for quite a while and is relatively cheap.

 

  Also you will want to make a Merchant character on an Alternate account*** and level it to Job Level 24 or 30+.  24 gets you Max Discount and Overcharge skills to buy/sell things to the NPC for more zenny.  30 gets you  Vend level 1 which lets you setup a shop to sell upto 3 different items to other players while afk.

 

 *** I suggest Alternate account so that you can trade the zenny back and forth between them because of rebirthing.  Bit more of a hassle when buying/selling items but worth it imho.

 

 

  Mages can also be pretty cheap and easy classes to level up, however their issue comes when they change to 3rd class because they will start needing gears that can be expensive.  Check out my Starting Mage - Sage/Wiz Guide that includes a really decent leveling guide as well.  Archers can also use the leveling spots very well.

I think the most important thing to turn off when walking through Eden is not the chatbox but the "No Shift" thingy. /ns
