Yo there. After much pondering I decided I want to return to the assassin scene. But I think my build is a bit outdated... The thing I always used is this, but it's pre-renewal (just sin-wise):

 

Lv 99:

Str:92
Agi:90
Vit:13
Int: 1
Dex:25
Luk:33

 

Skills

 

Equips: 3x Soldier Skeleton card Jur + Morrigane set

 

Just know that I never made it past basic sin ^^;

 

Is there any cookie-cutter stat and skill build for katar GltX? I like to be prepared.

But the real solution is this:

 

get RC 5, equip rideword and other HP leech gear, cast EDP, spam your skill key until your finger falls off. 

 

Eventually get either 120 in STR, AGI, or LUCK (or possibly two of those) and 90 in everything else except int, leave that at 1. 

 

There. You are become pro GX, slayer of MVPs, and dark-crow master of WOE.

Hi !

 

Your build is outdated. Yep. c:

 

The Giant Fluffy Cat's guide is really nice if you have funds.

Morri set is nice to pex though !

 

If you need advice for stat, i usually aim for 90 str 90 agi and 60 dex when i'm 99/70 as a sinX.And when you'll become a GX, you can get 70 dex then focus for vit (until 90). Then, it's up to you for str and agi (and try to get 90 dex too).

 

As a GX, you'll need HP leech stuff (Rideword Hat, Malicious cards...). It works perfectly with RC.

 

One important thing : when you're high thief, change into sinx at job level 42 ! (in end game, if you wanna switch into crit DD for MVP purposes, you'll be happy ;D)

 

Must to have for a katar build :

 

As a sin : Katar mastery, sonic blow.

As a sinx : Advanced katar mastery, EDP

As a GX : >>Rolling Cutter<<, New Poison Research

 

I think you won't miss anything with all the links above.

Um concerning that one thing... Is it really worth going SinX at jlv 42 as HThief without Double Attack? I feel a bit conflicted not going at jlv 50...

You wont lose anything important by not going job50. Even of you decide to gt double attack lv10, will be just a few lvls less on Steal and Hide.

Going sinX a job level 42 allow you to don't have Double attack if you switch to a DD crit build. (DA interferes with crits and you'll lose DPS) and with job 50 you'll get at least Double attack lv. 8.

 

And as a GX you won't use Hide anymore

Grimtooth ? must be very occasionnal.

But what about Cloaking exceed to avoid skill, with the hits resist.

 

I guess i haven't enough experience yet.

Is not about revealing yourself, is to avoid the damage.
And you gonna use Grimtooth quite a bit if you solo ET, makes some floors much easier.
